6 games into conference play and Brad's best team ever is in 11th place.

whose members advocate for retaining Brownell in spite of 13+ seasons of largely inconsistent and mediocre results on the court. In fact, I have maintained that he should have been fired after the 2015 season. That said, I've read a number posts about this being Brad's best Clemson team ever. I'm curious what the basis is for that statement? Is that something Brad said?

He has a talented group of players. Definitely the best he’s recruited. I have to disagree about the timeline or time he deserved firing. I would have moved on in year four. If St. John’s, Gonzaga, Villanova, Detroit, and a laundry list of other small schools can build a respectable program we can too. They don’t have the boosters or alumni we do. We tend to give back. Surely we can hire the next great coach and make Clemson NOT the laughing stock of mens basketball

While Brad hasn't come out and said it, the talking heads and basketball gurus couldn't stop talking about it at the beginning of the season.

I'll take a stab on limited knowledge. He's recruited some really good talent from the north ga area which is talent rich and highly competitive system in the usa. SChieflin, Godfrey, Beadle, all who have been in the program.
We have a unanimous AA in pj hall. Chase hunter is a 5th year and knows how to make the offense click. We finally have great height at guards... something that's been badly lacking. Then we brought in the best acc 3pt shooter.
We finally can play a strong 3 man low post offense. Again, something that Brad's teams have lacked. All adds up to us not being one dimensional and zero weak areas.
Brad's assistants are known for some of the best developers in the game. No reason this team shouldn't be top 20 and challenging for the acc championship. Hence, I predicted we'd win the acc. I still think this team can turn it around.

Turn it around and win the ACC (or even finish in the top 4) or turn it around and make the NCAAs?
because at this point we aren't getting in to the NCAAs unless something changes.

It was Clemson mountaineers® who asserted that it was the best Clemson team in at least 20 years. As he is co-president of the Brownell Bros I like to throw it in his face. Judge Keller also gave it a thumbs up put now denies every seeing anyone say any such thing.

is the 3 or 4 peeps who blindly & vocally support our doorknob leader.
To summarize:
Good Guys that want BETTER for Clemson Basketball - the lunatic fringe
Folks that are beyond comprehension who think our doorknob guy is as good as we can ever do - and have felt that way for 14 years - the cult.

This might be the Train Wreck season

That makes Neff’s decision easy.
14 games left and maybe only 4 to 6 wins? There’s indications that this team has talent gaps especially at guard positions and overall 3 point shooting.
The season will hopefully play out in a more favorable way.

What will make Neff's decision easy is when folks finally get enough and stop showing up to watch the mess. That does it every time.

I stopped even watching on TV about 3 years ago. I only skim through articles at this point. I love my school, and it just stresses me out seeing the same dumb things in every single game against a legit opponent. Best decision I ever made with sports. I'll enthusiastically start watching again when we get a real coach. And I'm a guy that camped out for games in the 80s when no one cared about basketball.

Same here, year 5 for me of not watching a single bit of it. Based on the posts I see here after games, I could have recorded the last game I watched and played it on loop. Not much has changed it appears.
Anyways, it's almost baseball season!

The next one feels kind of like a watershed game, particularly if we lose it.
