It’s funny how so many people discredit Purnell and his style of play

Saying it’s not sustainable, the reason we lost in the first round of the NCAAT after fun and great seasons… his style resulted in an identity, a fun watch and consistency. Had we been able to hang onto him long enough I have zero doubt we would have made a final 4 at minimum. The style leads to consistent success and when the talent lines up you can have a special season and win it all… see Nolan Richardson and the “60 minutes of hellllll” Arkansas team that won it all. Sign me up for a consistent program with potential. Tired of hearing the arguments against him, he was one of the best we had.

Purnell didn't win an ncaa tournament game his entire career.

But he put a consistent product on the floor and had us regularly contending in the top half of the ACC… his style would leave us vulnerable to a team that matched up well, but we were consistently an NCAA team and they way he was recruiting I believe eventually a team that could make a run.
