Is Clemson-Louisville actually a "rivalry"? Considering they

don't have a win against us since joining the ACC?
No doubt they have a decent team this year...but they have to actually win a game every now & again for it to mean something IMO.

...become a "rival." Yes, we are 3-0 against them, but all 3 games went down to the wire. And, it could be argued, they are close to supplanting the Noles from a talent/coaching standpoint (if they haven't already) as our primary competition in the Atlantic Division. Next year at Papa John's will be fun!

Not sure... and be careful...

... we were 0-3 (as ACC opponents) when the Clemson v. Boston College rivalry game started in 2008, and 7-1 (about to be 8-1) since. Hopefully if this is becoming a rivalry, we aren't about to see a flipping of the ######.

But, you're correct, I forgot about that almost "rivalry" with BC.

Cards are no where near close to surpassing FSU as a program.
I don't like FSU at all but saying that is completely ludicrous.

Didn't mean to imply they have surpassed FSU...

...as a program historically. Now that would be ludicrous. Simply talking about the here and now. I think beating FSU like a drum as they did this year, combined with our 3 close calls, warrants some "rivalry" discussion. No more than that.

Louisville is 94th in FBS in term of all-time wins at 499 total wins, while Clemson is tied with Washington at 19th and 709 wins.
If things continue to go our way, we're on the verge of getting past Syracuse (18th with 717 wins) and Georgia Tech (17th with 720 wins) soon enough.

The competitiveness of the 3 games makes it rivalry worthy. We could very easily be 0-3 against them. I have nothing but respect for UL. We will be dealing with them for a long time to come. They care about football.

Yeah, I would say it is setting up to be a rivalry. Every game comes down to the final seconds. They are definitely building something up there. Their fanbase is pretty passionate about football, which is more than you can say for about 75% of the ACC.
