Georgia in Sept. It will be Clemson playing a team of All Stars playing out of Athens Georgia. Check their starting 22 and see how many transfers they have, Kirby doesn't care about anything but wins.

The fun is in winning the right way. The right way doesn’t exist anymore. Clemson is the only school not selling their soul for wins. I kinda like it. Even if it brings a couple losses.

The "right way" to win is by scoring more points than your opponent in accordance with the rules of the game. Self-imposing needless restrictions doesn't make you better than anyone else.

Revenue sharing of 20-30 million dollars a year going to players on the top power 4 teams starting soon, will mirror UGA/Kirby. Adapt or become irrelevant. With that much money going to players every yr., you better be spending it wisely and that means getting players that can win for you today.
Like it or not, that's the future of CFB. And it is going to happen quickly. If the SEC/BIG can't get the power 4 to agree on the revenue sharing plan of 1.4 billion dollars to players within the next 45 days, the NCAA will end up paying 4.4 billion when they lose the HOUSE lawsuit.
Don't take my word for it. I have posted links to this previously.

You should become a Dawg or an FSU fan, win at any cost, character makes no difference. I would rather do it DABO's way.

Where did this idea that transfers are evil and have poor character? The transfer portal is part of the game now and players transfer for a myriad of reasons. Verse and Fiske were studs on FSU's defensive line last season. Should they have stayed at Albany and Western Michigan out of some kind of loyalty to those programs? Transferring to FSU seemed to work our pretty well for both the players and FSU. It's silly to be so closed minded on the subject.

So we go to the most extreme example? CU is a shit-show and that will not work out. Nobody is suggesting Dabo should bring in 30-plus transfers a year. It doesn't have to be all or nothing.

It allows people saying it to cling to a notion of moral superiority, especially if they don't think their team will win. I Following a loss it allows for nonsensical statements about preferring losses and maintaining virtue.

I think this season will be the biggest test for not using the portal. If Clemson can make the playoffs then Dabo will continue not using the portal. If they miss the playoffs I think Dabo will have no choice but to play the portal game. Hopefully his way will work.

I agree that's a possibility, however I hope the powers that be will come to their senses and stop the portal all together. The sit out a year transfer rule was perfect and I don't see why anyone would have allowed it to be changed. It could easily be a requirement when you sign your LOI.

Why is this school … I mean team … I mean coach … I mean forum … the only ones that don’t realize (like it or not) transfers and NIL are the new normal? (Serious question… I just don’t understand. )
Like it or not - “welcome to the machine”.

Dawg ### in the Merc Dome in front of God and Country. I imagine the narrative from the plethora of pundits and T-Net bored know-it-alls who have been doom and glooming Dabo for remaining true to his program building roots will be that UGA is way overrated and a shell of themselves and we simply got lucky.
Go Tigers!

Who will be the first coach/university to openly flaunt having players that don’t go to school? (And no you don’t get credit for answering UNC already did that). It’s coming soon. The coaches will want the players practicing/attending meetings 8 hours a day for the money they will be making.

Turns out winning games is Kirby's (and Dabo's) job
May 9, 2024, 3:43 PM
|
|
just the same as it was Danny Ford's in the day and every other college coach. While Clemson is the under dog in Game 1, like it or not, this game will be a well watched college football barometer on whether Dabo is correct in not pursuing transfer portal talent (and if Kirby is correct in accepting nine 2024 transfers incl. six 4-star players.) And Kirby cares about more than winning games - he sells UGA by telling recruits, especially OL, RBs & Defense on UGA being the best destination to prep for an NFL career.
I like Clemson's chances. But this game is a barometer. Go Tigers!

The vast majority of UGA's players were recruited to UGA out of HS, but whatever makes you feel better about Dabo refusing to utilize the transfer portal.

Yeah man, Dabo's approach is great if the goal is to win 8-10 games a season. His approach on the portal puts us at a competitive disadvantage against other top programs. It's as simple as that.

I think his approach is great for the 12 team playoff just about every year. He is building something special again. We took a hit with coaching changes. We have started to step up recruiting again. I thinkhis approach is as good as it has ever been. He has vision. I think some fans don't.

According to Brian Kelly...
https://www.independentmail.com/story/sports/college/lsu/2024/05/08/brian-kelly-transfers-lsu-football-kirby-smart/73582326007/
"Simply, Kelly’s blueprint calls for rebuilding LSU to prominence by signing blue-chip prospects and then engaging, retaining and developing them. Basically, that’s the Georgia model. Kirby Smart cherry-picks a few top transfers, but, mostly, he’s established Georgia as the SEC’s premier program by signing elite recruiting classes and developing those ballyhooed prospects into stars."
Believe it or not.

They’re doing everything that is allowed within the rules to try to put the best team they can on the field. This is what we used to do we don’t anymore. If you’re the only team in the nation that doesn’t take transfers it doesn’t make you principled it makes you arrogant and stubborn.

I think us Clemson fans all hold winning as our #1. Any football team that does not have the goal of winning 100% of their games as top priority is okay with losing 100% of their games.
