but if I read on ESPN that our basketball team was 13-18 would that make me considered a dumper? I want to support the team but just want to make sure I am able to read sports news and not be a coot.

I agree with you about the team. The basketball season was a failure by anybody's standards. The only thing that ever bothers me is when people keep bringing up the same crap over and over and over again. If that makes me a pumper/dumper I don't know but my advice is worth what you paid for...nothing

and relate the reading. For example, in your reference you could say, "Well, we are lousy because we only won 13 games," OR you could say, "Hey, we won 13 games, when we could've lost more. I'm excited about our potential." Then again, you could just make your reference...and ask whether you should be considered a dumper or pumper merely for the reading. Some might suggest that the latter is the safest. LOL
