while these guys are very articulate and mostly say the right things, here are a few observations...
1) They give more than anyone in blood, sweat, tears, and time. However, they don't seem to be as "sick" over this loss as the fans do.
2) Ruke was asked "what was the worst thing about losing to Duke" he said... "getting back at 5 am."
3) They all are good at the talking points. We lost to Clemson, windshield mentality, got to have amnesia, etc.
4) We don't have a passionate animated leader especially on defense. We don't have a Ben Boulware, Jamie Skalski, or Christian Wilkins. You might could say Shipley is on Offense but I'm not sure about that either.
We need someone to step up and hold people accountable. Like Tebow when he gave his famous speech to the media after taking the loss. What I see missing is Passion, Fire, Hunger, and a few wide outs.

Run some hills run some stairs, ha ha ha!!!
You do realize we postpone high school practice and games due to heat now.
Our whole civilization is getting softer simply trickling down to our Football team as well.

I’m hoping that maybe there was something that he didn’t understand about the question. Otherwise, that’s why there were 0 sacks against Duke.

Ruke should benched and Peter Woods should take his spot. Then he can sleep in the 4th quarter of away games, and he won't have to worry about losing sleep on a trip back to Clemson while getting in at 5am.

I was a little disappointed not to hear some hurt and disappointment over this loss. Maybe flushing everything is not the best mentality, sometimes pain can drive you to improve.

Go listen to the player interviews after the loss to Pitt in 2016. It's different. This team ####### sucks.

Would they not have gotten back at 5 AM despite the result of the game? This is not the right tone for the leaders on this team right now. It sounds like Ruke thinks we can sleepwalk our way to the FSU game, I wouldn't be so sure. Duke should've been a wake up call.

They need someone from UGA to handle the travel for Clemson, definitely get that quicker than 5 am.

There is no hunger or drive in these players. No chip on the shoulder, no meanness, or will to smash somebody’s face into the turf. They’re more concerned with looking good on social media, and listening to some music on their new Beats. Nobody’s pissed or mad about losing because they’ve become the New Spring Church Boy’s Choir.

and what is said behind closed doors are two entirely different things.
As players, they don't have the luxury of dwelling on a loss. Do that and one loss can end-up beating you twice.
You learn from it, then you flush it and move on.

I hope you are right. I hope it’s different behind closed doors because several of them said “any loss is frustrating” I’m sure it is but too me, there’s miles difference in losing to Alabama, FSU, even Notre Dame. But Duke? That’s a whole new level of bad.

they have historically fielded.
They retuned 19 starters from a 2022 team that won nine games.
Clemson was its own worst enemy Monday night but Duke is a solid team and they played a good game.

They absolutely did. Duke was better than expected but from a program and recruiting standpoint, they should never be able to match up. Duke will still lose 3/4 games this year.

Between Rukes comments and Cade/Dabo talking about a national championship it seems like the team has lost touch with reality. Don’t get me wrong we can get better as the year goes, but we’re not entitled to get better. To me that means facing the fact that we got embarrassed on Monday night and being ashamed to talk about anything other than winning against CSU.

Oklahoma. But I definitely understand his wanting to be at OK with Coach Venables. The defense needs someone to light the fire in them like Coach V. Ben Boulware had it in him also. It made him a better player.

That’s spot on for the defense…emphasized by the departure of Venables…idk if our DC has that fire.

Not sure what T-net seeks to gain by dragging these players through the mud. Clearly the actions on the field in the weeks to come will tell us what we need to know, rather than what players say at press conferences.

I know a freshman CU , he was a summer enrollee. He’s managed to meet a lot of players, and participate w them in “college activity.” He said there’s plenty of drink, smoke, women, and dodge chargers to go around. Said they’ve partied like rock stars! His quote to me three weeks ago “ don’t expect too much out of this bunch”

They’ve bought in completely into what Dabo preaches. Which is good and bad. You want them to buy into a mentality but not if it’s drinking the Koolaid too much and not realizing some truths.

I'll say this about Cade, in his post-game interview in Durham, he sounded hurt over the loss, even shellshocked.
