I have always thought that bowden's decision to punt with a 5 point lead with only seconds left in the game instead of taking a safety was the stupidest coaching mistake in football history. Bowden justified his decision to not run the clock out running back and taking the safety by claiming the runner may have tripped and not made it to the endzone for the safety. Yea, like that was more likely than snapping the ball over the punters head. However, I think this was probably the stupidest play call of all time.

Yeah, he should have been fired after that game. I guess it worked out though because if he had been fired then we might not be where we are now.
