Saw these guys briefly at a festival and thought they were great, so I bought tickets for their show last night. They are really, really good live. Their music is sort of to the country side of Lynyrd Skynyrd, with a good bit of blues. Some of the lyrics remind me of southern gothic literature. Anyway, they've only got one album so far and aren't well known at all- only had about 100 people there last night. Last night, they also covered The Allman Brothers' "Whipping Post," Jason Isbell's "Cover Me Up," and JJ Cale's "I Got the Same Old Blues."

I'd love to see them make a few more albums, and I've got a good track record with discovering country bands at the Windy City Smokeout up here. I think it was probably you who mentioned that Chris Stapleton was good when I saw him at that festival two years ago, and not a lot of people knew about him at the time either.

Stapleton. It was very interesting to watch him go from playing the Charleston Music hall and having empty seats to filling up the tennis stadium on DI in just a years time.
