Future Ring of Honor. Renfrow, Lawrence, Spiller, Hopkins

Etiene, Williams, Watkins. I’m sure there are more I haven’t thought of. Who else do we need ?
I think Watson may have disqualified himself although he is worthy as a player on the field.

The odds are really against it at the moment. I think his legal cases are heading towards settlements, but that's not going to be enough to restore his reputation.

Clemson site.
"Eligibility: This committee will recognize individuals who have demonstrated consistent and unique national excellence in their sport during their Clemson career. Their accomplishments must be significant on an individual and team basis. Their statistical accomplishments must be noteworthy, but they should also have an outstanding record in terms of leadership. In general, they must have made a noteworthy contribution to the history of the Clemson Athletic Program.
Athletic accomplishments after their Clemson career are not a primary consideration in the nomination, but they must retain a commendable record of citizenship after they leave Clemson. A candidate must be a member of the Clemson Hall of Fame and must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited four-year University or college."
As it stands right now, that "commendable record of citizenship after they leave Clemson" is the part that will keep Watson out. Nothing short of a complete recant by 22 women, them admitting it was all just an extortion attempt with no truth whatsoever behind it, would be needed to completely restore his reputation. Otherwise, it will always be there in the background, even if he keeps his image clean going forward.
If there IS any actual guilt on his part, he might do better to actually admit he has a "sex" problem, and seek professional psychological help. Amurica loves to forgive, but not unless you ask forgiveness and at least look like you mean it.

Watson deserves it if he stays perfect for the next decade. Deshaun is the man. He just got a little carried away.

No. Probably would have been more accurate to discuss Clemson HOF but Ring of Honor gets any Clemson fan's attention. Lawrence, Spiller, Wilkins and Etienne are legitimate contenders I believe, but I think that we will have to raise the standards after this current run. Otherwise, we are going to have to use print to the size used on the back of cold medicine to fit them all.
As beloved as beloved as Renfrow is, if we were to include him in the discussion based on performance, we would need to add Simmons, Terrell, Ferrell, Dexter Lawrence, Alexander, Hyatt, and a host of other names. If I were to rank the likelyhood of ones actually making it into the Ring of Honor right now, from most likely down, I would say Etienne, Wilkins, Spiller, and then Trevor Lawrence. If Watson gets his legal troubles cleared up so there is not a cloud there then I would move him one side or the other from Etienne.

Well if they all deserve it, then so does ; Michael Dean Perry, Terry Allen (my all-time favorite Tiger RB), The Fridge Perry, Kevin Mack, Chester McGlockton, Trevor Pryce, Brian Dawkins, Dwight Clark, and so on and so on. I can keep going on with names of former football players that have had great careers here and at the pro level, but you can't just fill the ring of honor with every great football player that has played here or else it would be overloaded and meaningless. I definitely agree with you that one or two of those you listed will eventually deserve to be considered and maybe even possibly get added to it, but I am not sure what would make them any more deserving to be on The Ring of Honor than some of those that I named that seem to have been forgotten about.

Had 33 catches for 571 yards spread over the course of 3 years.
Will Swinney had more catches than Dwight Clark.

I do not know how many graduated.... and yes sir I agree with you. I honestly did not even bother to check who had graduated and who hadn't, my point of the post was exactly what you said, the ROH goes beyond athletic accomplishments. I was only stating that if all of those players listed in the OP are deserving to get in, then there are certainly others that have been just as deserving or more deserving. I should have at least checked to see of they all had graduated before including any names on my list though. Thank you and the others for correcting me. GO TIGERS!

Not sure how they treat non athletes? Frank Howard did not graduate from Clemson. Don't know about an honorary degree.

ROH. The requirements state that you have to graduate from an accredited 4-year college. Frank Howard graduated from Alabama I believe (correct me if I'm wrong).

There are qualifications and I doubt Renfrow and Hopkins qualify and not sure if any of these do, except Spiller.

Nuk and DW4 have carried themselves in less than an honorable fashion since leaving Clemson so they would be a no for me. In terms of players from the last 10 years i would say TL16, CWilkins, HR13 and Swaggy (ETN) would be good candidates.
CJ would obviously be in the ROH sooner than later.

Nothing. What he HAS done, many times over, is refuse to
Feb 7, 2022, 10:40 AM

even acknowledge during pro player introductions that he attended Clemson. He says "Daniel High School" instead.
From what I have heard, this is because he peevishly thought Sammy Watkins was receiving preferential treatment over him during the times their careers overlapped. He could be right or wrong, but seeing as he has had MUCH the superior career in the NFL compared to Sammy, you would think he could get over it.

I’m done with Hopkins. Not sure what the guy’s issue is with Clemson but something is off. Seen him back 1 time and he had quit even mentioning Clemson when naming his school on player intros.

It's just so crazy it might work.
Add him, then he feels bad and comes back to us.
Like when my girlfriend dumped me, and I went out and got her name tattoo'd on my lower back. She was so touched by the gesture that dumped those guys she ran off with and came back to me. 4 months later we had a beautiful daughter.
