Stop and think before you act!
Should we permanently end college basketball because it's played during the height of the flu season?

It's been a knee jerk reaction all over the country. Was Talking to a friend of mine thats a Dr. He said he thinks this virus has been spreading for months undetected. We dont stop the world for the Flu and its just as deadly if not more so than the Flu.

I hope you are right. The coronavirus is much easier to transmit to other people. The average flu patient transmits the virus to nine people. The coronavirus has an average transmission rate of 45. This causes very fast spread 9 times 9 is 81. 81 times 9 is 729. 45 times 45 is 2025. 2025 times 45 is 91125. See how fast that changes everything. My son is in med school and thinks it’s no big deal. I hope y’all are correct.

I see nothing wrong with hitting the pause button on non essential events, especially those that are large in nature in an effort to slow the rate of transmission. The cold hard reality is the United State operates way too close to capacity for something like this to explode. At it current projection we were headed for a scary place with regards to support at hospitals for those who need. See Italy for a very good comparison.
However, with that said, I scratching my head over people buying up all the toilet paper. So dumb.

Ptown, i heard just the opposite today. Where did you hear this? Rates of infected are decreasing in china, italy and korea as of stated today by Fouci. He thinks the same trend is starting to show in US.

It was published by several research institutions in the same study that shows it stays in the air for 3 hours. The infection rate falling is from separation of infected persons from general population. Transmission rate is solely one individual left to mingle among the healthy

This is at least 10 times as deadly as the flu. Estimates suggest it will infect anywhere from a third to half the country. A third of 75 million 2.5 million people, which would be a 3% fatality rate, IF we get a best-case scenario on infections. Let's say it has a 1% death rate due to our glorious health care system valiantly saving everyone else: that's 750,000 deaths IF we get the best-case scenario. Why don't you spend less time sitting on the internet absorbing whatever moronic ravings you are caught up in on whatever conspiracy/fever-dream right-wing confederacy of dunces you subscribe to and try finally joining the rest of us in the real world.

It's not 10 times deadlier than "the flu" for anyone under 50

You have a good point, but ruin it with "flu season"

comment.. I do like the idea of suspend indefinitely.. give it 3-4wks... But don't devalue your point with the foolishness of comparing this to another flu season.

I do believe this was a “plandemic” But once a vermin is in your house you kill it and worry about how it got in later.

Which T-Netter predicted last week that the ACC would shut down as soon as the Heels lost?
