Did you count all the "almost interceptions" ??

In leading his team to a big comeback victory, Winston had three real interceptions. How many "almost interceptions" did Winston throw??
Curiously, when Cole Stoudt is under scrutiny, "almost interceptions" are a considered a legit statistic.
They prove how badly Clemson would have lost if the opposing defense could catch.
How badly would FSU have lost if the Louisville defenders could catch??

Louisville dropped a combined 9...10... maybe higher number of interceptions between us and FSU? Charlie Strong should be ashamed of himself! Or has Grantham screwed things up that quickly? Haha.

I dislike Crab boy as much as anybody but he also threw for more touchdowns tonight than cole has on the season.

"Almost interceptions" will kill you. Even if you win, you lose.

Cole might not take much crap if he could put up 400+ yards and 3 TD's with those "almost" interceptions...

And I'd take the studebaker. At least when it breaks down it won't cost you an arm and a crableg to repair

A lot more than CS did in last 3 games combined. I don't like him personally but out on the field he over came an injury in spectacular fashion

3 TDs and 35 second half points tend to overshadow

that a bit. Also, Winston still averaged 8.4 YPA vs Cole's 4.9 YPA.

I don't think the original post was to compare the talent level of Cole Stoudt to that of Jameis Winston so much as to illustrate that counting "almost interceptions" is a stupid statistic in a winning effort no matter who is playing QB. If just one or two of those near picks had been successful, all of Winston's heroics would have been wasted and he'd be being blamed for losing the game. Since they weren't he was able to mount a great comeback and put up terrific positive number instead of being the goat.
