To be fair, Smith didn't pitch in this game...

...but I think the Toussaint experiment is about over. Can't imagine he will start any more games in this stretch run. Maybe come on as a long reliever if needed.

I agree Touki is about done as a starter, gotta few problems now tho. 1. Right now it’s ether him or Smyly as the 5th starter, so it’s ether pick your poison with them 2 or risk starting head case Newcomb in crucial games late in the season. 2. is that Touki trade value has declined so rapidly recently, that happened with Newcomb too as a starter, that’s why the Braves dumped Wilson before his stock went down completely in to get Rich Rod who for the most part as been a quality relief guy and I’d rather see him, or Jackson (threw up typing this) or even Matzek or god forbid Minter (threw up again) over Smith in the 9th, yeah I get Smith has a lot of saves but how many of them were clean saves and not giving up 1 or 2 runs with a 3 run lead. So my question to you is who’s the 5th starter and who’d you put out there in the 9th with a 1 run lead? Just want another fan’s opinion.

Watching Touki pitch is just painful. Watching Snit let him stay in the game and hit instead of a PH in the bottom of the 4th with a runner in scoring position was just sad. Next inning he gives up a 2-run homer.
That’s Snit. He just manages that way essentially conceding the game.

This…
Snit punted a plate appearance with a runner on 3B to squeeze another inning out of Touki that he didn’t even get an out in…Letting him face that lineup a 3rd time thru was detrimental…his managing has cost the Braves quite a few games this season…
Need a Touki/Smyly combined start for the 5th spot…that’s the only way we will be able to get 5 or 6 out a starter on that spot.

I like touki. He carried them through the entire summer. However if they keep playing chicken with Freddy Freeman and screw that up I’ll be pissssed

Need to get rid of Snitz in my opinion, tho they won't....he's been there 80 years. He's probably the worse situational manager I've seen. The talent and power of the team itself makes him look better than he is. As soon a game requires actual strategy he's screws it up 90% of the time....whether its not moving a base runner with less than 2 outs in a tight game (bunt) or over thinking pitching matchups out of the pen.....its almost like every move he makes is the wrong one.

Smyly to 5th starter spot. That should only be 3 starts and then go to a 4 man rotation for the postseason. Rodriguez/Matzek in the 9th depending on the hitters due up (righties or lefties).

Rodriguez has the worst K% on the team, and it's not even close

A K% of 8.6%. Every pitcher on the roster has a K% at least double his. Anyone thinking he should be used in high leverage situations has not looked at his actual stats. He has the worst FIP and xFIP of any pitcher on the current roster right now.
His spin rate has tanked since the MLB has cracked down on sticky substances. He has one pitch (a 93mph fastball), and if it isn't perfectly located, it's finding it's home in the seats.
Let's not ever mention him as a solution to the Braves late inning pitching woes.
