12 team football playoff - rules say the SIX conference

champs and the 6 highest rated non-champs get in. That said, the ACC is guaranteed one team in and possibly a 2nd if another team merits consideration based on our perceived weak schedules. So, if Clemson and FSU live up to the hype of being SEC/B1G worthy, the ACC would have 2 of the 12 slots leaving the rest of the nation to fight over 5 remaining spots. SEC gets 3 and B1G gets 2 at-large teams every year according to coot logic. Not sure where ND will fall each year due to playing a lot of ACC teams and whoever else. Just don't change the rules for playoffs and see how it plays out.

Those new rules are only for two seasons. After that the CFP will be renegotiated and the SEC/B1G will have most of the sway.

If they had 11(?) folks from 11 different schools make the original rules, why can't the new committee make the same rules to mess with the 2 big conferences?

Whats going to happen is the SEC is going to miraculously have a couple more at large teams that will tilt the playoff bracket...in their favor on paper until the game is actually played. This is their master plan that they want.

the SEC powers might end up with 3 losses in some years and not be ranked in the top 12 - every team will be hoping for Vandy, UK, and the coots on their schedules and avoid the Bamas, Sooners, and LSWhos.
