Whomever was in charge of picking the mascot and colors at Virginia Tech completely failed. Maybe a UVa fan at heart?


It's unique - I'll give them that. Uniquely awful.

around Clemson feel about orange and purple. I’ve heard a lot of people talk about how awful of a combination it is but I think it’s beautiful.

I remember when they broke out the purple jerseys vs Georgia Tech with Whitehurst. I thought those were the sickest jerseys ever but they were getting dragged everywhere.

I think the purple jerseys/white pants were introduced by Hatfield against NC State in 1990. They also wore them in the Citrus Bowl that year against the Cal Bears in the Citrus Bowl.

Clemson colors are the sun setting on a crisp Autumn day in a purple sky. Virginia Tech’s colors are the fall leaves in the mountains of Virginia. That may not be true but at least it has some significance if it is true. Admittedly, the orange and purple does have a good look to it.

and that hideous slanted "VT" logo. The retro one they use -the "V" with the smaller T in the center is much sweeter. Reminds me of aTm's logo.
