It had to have been somebody that knew the real lick about the BS that swofford has been up to. Was it FSU or Clemson giving out the information to arm the Forbes reporter with ?

The details of the relationship between IMG and Texas lends credit to he original Forbes article. Supposing that Texas approved the Forbes reproachful attack on Swofford and his ability, or lack therof, to make sound financial decisions for the ACC indicates that we must now believe that they are onboard with the Clemson/FSU invitation and may be in fact leading the charge. There is no more need for rumors when astounding revelations like this are presented.

They had tohave gotten information from Clemson or FSU. You would have to be very close to the acc to get some of that info.

this is a combined effort to kill the ACC publicly before CU/FSU hit the eject button.

during the negotiation process. I'd guess we are asking for many and varied concessions such as full vestment and exit fee payoff.
Although it could be to get the attention of GT and the other schools the Big and SEC want.
Bottom like is, anything and everything you can think of that helps the 'Big12/SEC alliance,' probably applies here.

Sounds like somebody wants a few certain members of the ACC. Makes me wonder if the Big wants the members more than the members want the Big and they are trying to create unrest among the fan base and alumni to petition the schools to take action.

I couldn't agree more with the entire article. When I read the two Forbes articles by Smith, I thought to myself "this kid is old enough to be a staff writer with FORBES?!" There is clearly a high-level parlor trick going on behind the scenes here, lending an incredible amount of credibility to what have previously been "message-board rumors".
This line in particular was interesting: "Publicly, Texas is against the Big12 expanding, but privately, Texas signed off on the additions of FSU and Clemson at the very beginning of May (you are going to have to trust me on this). Winning in the court of public opinion is crucial for these efforts and Texas seems to be utilizing every resource."
We all know that UT is the puppet-master of the Big XII, and if they are truly on board, I imagine we will see the conference changes very, very soon.

Isn't it possible they could help save the ACC?
Jun 6, 2012, 11:44 AM

Wouldn't ragging on the ACCs recent decisions and bringing them to light actually push those in the ACC who want it to survive to action? Seems like if you point out stupidity and/or corruption at the top, interested parties (or due to public pushback) might start doing something about it. If the correct actions occurred, then it might keep schools and be saved...
Just a thought
