ACC B-Ball this year - Take Advantage

It's crazy how all the big names are struggling early and some are just flat out bad. IF Coach B is ever going to have a year to make a statement, this would be it.

Interesting how even the better ACC teams have at least a couple of nonconf losses already. I would think that is unusual for early Jan

8 of our last 16 games are against teams with a NET Ranking of 127 or worse, including 5 games against teams with a NET Ranking of 216 or worse.
Anything worse than finishing like 22-9 (14-6) has to be looked at as an absolute failure from here. The ACC has a lot of really, really crappy teams.

Please show link, I looked up the Net rankings and only found 4 ACC teams below the 125 mark and Ga Tech was 127. So really only 3 teams that have a large margin below 125.

Look down that list, and there’s nobody who would scare you this year.
I’ve been as critical as anyone about Brownell. But the combination of this team playing well and the league being terribly down…has a chance to result in something big.
We’ll see.

100% agreed. This is Clemson's chance to do something truly historic. I just hope we take it.

Same dance different song regarding the ACC. All of last year everyone did nothing but knock the ACC. "Sucks" was the most common descriptive term. In the end, it had BY FAR the best showing in the NCAAT, including 2 in the Final Four and 1 in the finals. The league was never given the credit it deserved because it started slowly. By March Madness ACC teams were peaking. Same will happen this year. Sometimes it just takes time for teams to gel.

seem to say little about how bad the ACC is in football. But anyway…
The ACC is not awful in basketball this year. It wasn’t bad last year either. Remember, all we heard last year was that the ACC was down, and then there were 3 ACC teams in the Elite Eight and 2 in the Final Four.
In this era of being able to leave college after one year, plus the transfer portal allowing players to transfer without sitting out a year, there is an unprecedented amount of roster turnover. It’s only natural that there will be a lot of early season upsets as teams figure out new players and how to put the pieces together. This is especially true for teams like Duke and UNC who often play highly touted true freshmen a lot of minutes.
Make no mistake, the ACC is still a tough basketball conference. The only bad team this year is Louisville. Every other ACC team is capable of challenging anyone else. That’s because the conference is strong, top to bottom.
Don’t believe the talking points.

I tend to agree. The ACC collectively is 114-52 in out-of-conference games. If you remove FSU & Louisville, we are 110-34. I have no idea how that compares to previous years but it doesn't seem too bad.
I think the real surprise is after only 5 ACC games there are only 2 teams still undefeated and they are Pitt and Clemson rather than UNC or Duke. That probably skews some of the outside opinions on strength of the conference this year.
