One of the joys of living across the river in Georgia

Apr 25, 2021, 8:26 PM

Stopped by the Hofbrauhaus in Helen today after a nice hike because it has been too long since I’ve had one of their Hefeweizens. Konig Ludwig for my wife (UGA grad but otherwise converted by DeShaun and me) and Erdinger for myself. I was sporting my “walking around” Tiger Paw cap (not the mowing/hiking cap it replaced, nor the 2015 Gameday hat that is 79-7).
One fellow started in with “y’all don’t have a good record against us”
“No sir, we don’t. Tough when you play 20 more games on the road than at home against a good team”
“Well, Labor Day ain’t gonna be like playing Alabama”
“You’re right, we can both agree on that.”
His buddy smiled and got it, he didn’t. My wife chuckled begrudgingly.
“You just don’t have our history.”
“True. I wonder how your Bulldog Club members feel about your return in investment these past four decades versus IPTAYs?”
Silently walks out the door. His buddy laughs out loud. My wife thanks me for the weissbier and we enjoy watching the Chattahoochee on a beautiful day.
Can’t wait to be back in Death Valley in 4 and a half months!
