Nothing official yet from the SEC. Wouldn't be surprised if

Jul 26, 2021, 2:07 PM

Texas is still shopping themselves around to the ACC, BIG or even PAC. Why wouldn't they?

Technically, Texas & OU are free agents right now. They could go anywhere, including the Pac-12, where they almost went in 2011.

The SEC would have to vote on an invitation, with 11 teams approving. Not sure how fast that will occur.

The SEC vote is supposedly happening this week.***

I read that this has been going on for six months without A&M's knowledge. Seems like they will be in the SEC.

Why wouldn't they?

They have not spent 6 months working with the SEC and announced they are moving to SEC to now suddenly decide to "shop" themselves around to other conferences.

I would think it is more likely they shopped themselves around to all those conferences and decided to buy what the SEC was selling.

Why publicly state you are going to SEC, then start calling the other conferences?

Why would they be shopping themselves to conferences that

have a significantly lower payout than the SEC and the B1G?

Those conferences may have teams that Texas could beat.
Yes, Texas knows they can beat Georgia, but what about the SEC West?

Why should they. The Big 10 is not near the conference the SEC is,even now.And the PAC and ACC are too far in either direction for the average fan who wants to travel.
