those coaches are mentors in the truest sense of the word. I know i'm biased but they actually would put time into getting these kids started in the right direction. Now there will be those that stray from the program but i think its all about environment. And from what i've heard his brother wasn't the best role model for him to be hanging around 24/7. He needed to get away from all that crap. But i mean... he would've been supplemental or taken a spot of one of our d-lineman so...we turned out aiight.

Chad Kelly, Mike Bellamy weren't changed by the coaches...

Our coaches do a good job with keep our players doing the right thing. But, they can't change every player who has bad attitude or gets in trouble

Exactly. You can't change every human out there.

If you could there wouldn't be crime, would there?
But on a more serious note, I don't think our coaches do so much better at "training" kids about behavior. They do a much better job at SELECTING the right kids. Every now and then they make a mistake. Chad Kelly. Bellamy. Battle. Etc.

I would have been happy as all get-out to sign a player like RN , and anyone who says otherwise is either a liar or doesn't get football at all . That said , talent doesn't equate to being well behaved and making wise decisions. ..talking about 18-22 year old kids here . I hope he recovers well , and I look forward to seeing him play on Sundays , because he is a special talent .

it is so obvious that he and his brother have done what they wanted all their life. No parenting at all and the parent mentality of my kid never does anything wrong, just like Chad Kelly. Clemson did not need this type of player and I am so glad he did not come here. There are kids that just can't be changed. Nothing the coaches could have done could have helped this one. IMO, he will get drafted but really has no future in the NFL. He will stay in trouble.
His mom wanted him to follow in his brother's footsteps and he is doing just that.

Hugh's not bad. You saw The Blind Side, right?
But he's lucky it's just stitches. 300 pounds falling 15 feet to concrete coulda been way worse. And was he trying to break into another hotel room?

I appreciate he took ownership of not doing enough on his end. Obviously, Nkemdchickekee is ultimately responsible for himself, but I dont think Hugh is the bad guy people make him out to be.
