My wife and I took a topless (convertibles) caravan this past weekend with another couple. We drove from Atlanta to Clayton, Ga on Friday. As an aside, we stopped at a roadside attraction, Goats on the Roof. It is a hoot! Back to the story, Saturday morning I suggested we change our planned route to Greenville (for Fall for Greenville festival) and drive through Westminster, Seneca and Clemson. Beautiful day and drive. We drove around campus and stopped by the stadium at the top of the Hill and got out of our cars. Neither of our neighbors had been to Clemson. They said the campus was gorgeous and were impressed with Memorial Stadium and Howard's Rock. My friend attended Duke. He said it was a testament to Clemson that an ACC school had such a facility. Now to the point, his wife asked when the stadium was built. Regrettably I didn't know. When we made it home I went on line to learn more about the stadium. I read the wiki page and I recommend it to all fans. Built in 1941-1942 largely by scholarship athletes!! Can you imagine? Lots of other fun and interesting facts. It was great to be in Clemson town! Go Tigers!
