Listening to the radio show youre led

Oct 17, 2023, 10:55 AM

…to believe the issue with this team is execution and turnovers….looking at nfl draft boards there’s a significant talent issue on offense and a drop off on the d line after a great group last year.

Currently there’s not a single offensive player listed in the top 10 of any position group by Mel Kiper. Not one.

We used to be known as wru - last Clemson wr drafted in the first two rounds - Higgins. Last in the first round - Mike Williams.

There are four players in the top ten of their position - Trotter, Carter, Wiggins, and Mukuba.

The talent and development drain on the offensive side of the ball is undeniable. Hopefully some position coaches changes will occur after the season to that side of the ball.

Georgia doesn't have a 1st/2nd round receiver either per this site with McConkey being the 17th best WR. Beaux is 38. Interesting chart on this site shows speed and weight for the top picks and appears that 200-210 lbs with sub 4.4 speed is the sweet spot for elite WR. Beaux is 4.6 speed. Number 1 on the board is Marvin Harrison Jr at 6'4", 205lbs, and 4.39 40.

Those types are difference makers and you just need 1 on a roster at a time (though OSU seems to have several all the time). Bryant Wesco is 6'3", 180lbs, 4.42 40.

My concern is not only that

but also the fact that there is no reason for it.

Based on our recruiting, we should have more players on the offensive side of the ball who are among the best at their respective positions.

I have to take issue with your drop off on D-line. Compared to what? NFL draft position. Bresee barely even played last year and Murphy was lazy and underperformed. KJ Henry played well last year. This year Dline is better. Parker and Woods as freshman are on par with the Power Rangers as Freshmen. Unless they get hurt, they will be top ten picks in 2026 draft. This is the deepest d-line we’re have had and Tre Williams has yet to play. DE is a little thin but XT and Mascol would start for almost every P5 team.

You want to talk about WR talent feel free but you are not watching the games if you think there is a drop off on the Dline.
