LB's: Anthony Simmons and Keith Adams, & the bigger picture

Probably our two best linebackers of the last 30 years, I think both were 3-star recruits when we got them, if ranked at all (I don't recall, but that's not the point). Those of you that want to mention Boulware and Skalski here, go ahead, it's the same theme but I haven't seen with my own eyes a Tiger LB stalk and track down prime FSU talent in the open field like Simmons and Adams did. Isaiah Simmons comes to mind too.

The point is coaching. I don't know too much about it, but don't tell me not to believe my lying eyes either. Carter and Trotter are 5-star recruits. The Duke game BETTER have been an aberration, or the waste of talent narrative is going to overwhelm us, and fast.

The path to the Playoff still exists, we shouldn't let this one loss preclude that ambition. And Dabo now can use something he's always avoided - we have to win every game from here - forget about the other nonsense. Let's see what we're made of.

I big part of winning these games is going to be the fans showing up to Death Valley

Correct! This is what happens when you change from a blitzing, pressure, penetrating defense that creates chaos and disruption to a soft, control and contain defense. The entire mindset changes and the aggressive, ### the torpedos defense of BV becomes a distant memory. Sure, the BV defenses put great pressure on the DB's and they often blew coverages and got whipped for TD's........so be it. That is the price you pay for a gambling defense. BV was the master at it. Pork Chop has brought in these "Play soft and control your area" defense and it sux big eggs. Players did not come to Clemson to play soft zone coverages. They came here to attack the offense and make big plays, not sit in a zone, 20 yards off the receiver and check periodically to see if your diaper needs changing. That is NOT Clemson defense. I don't care what Dabo says about a great defensive performance. I didn't care that he said the same thing about the Coot game or the Tennessee game last year.......don't care. Those are lies. We know it, the players know, the fans know it, the former players are chirping about it, the media is harping on it, and Porky is sitting there at his desk designing new soft zones to play next week.

We can't get BV back. That ship has sailed. But the replacement hire should have been someone with the same balls-to-the-wall mentality as BV, not an overweight Jimmy Carter with zero coaching experience. I bet there is another BV out there somewhere but Dabo didn't even look. Huge mistake for the CEO of $100M company. Most boards would have fired him for incompetence. Athletics is different and I understand that.

On the other hand, I have seen Dabo over and over, for the past 15 years, make changes when needed. Do the things necessary to win big games. I feel confident he will do it again. He is no dummy, though sometimes he seems to step right up to the moron line and peek into the stupidity abyss. He loves his friends, is loyal to a fault, and would probably fall on his sword rather than admit he made a mistake. But he did it with Streeter.......maybe he will do it with Porky. Who knows the mind of Dabo?? If not, he might as well go ahead and start his Motivational speaking business, become a full time evangelist rather than part time, or maybe try a new way of doing things. It will be very interesting to see which he chooses. I love that man. He has done so many wonderful things for me and for some of my family members. He is an amazing Christian man who walks the walk far better than I ever could. I'm thinking he sees this better than most and will fix it!! That is my hope. That is my prayer!

Pretty sure because I was a student and think I remember him being the #1, or #2 LB in the class.
