Ben Martin's performance yesterday got me to thinking about Kyle Stanley. I do not follow golf that closely, but I like to keep up with Tigers golfers whenever possible. I have not heard much from Kyle lately. Anybody know the latest with him?

Two years ago in person with the 3 stoke lead at the Open on 18 and triple bogeyed 18. I was following him all day and almost puked when he fell apart. Terrible....have no idea what he is up to now.

The Farmers Insurance Open? Certainly not the U.S. Open.

I watched that meltdown on tv (really not a meltdown but a great wedge shot with slightly too much spin on it) and watched the next week when he won...maybe Phoenix...can't recall.

He won the next week in Scottsdale, AZ I think. I was by the green on 18 when disaster struck. I was sick watching that. He lost in the playoff to Snedeker after two holes. I saw him hit a 3 wood laser well over 200 to the green from the left rough on 12 I think....it was an arrow about 30 feet off the ground in to about 3 feet. He was out of mind all day that day until 18 got him.

Played in about 5 tournaments on the PGA early this season. Mainly when the big names were taking some time off. I believe he is still playing on the Web.com tour the rest of the year. I could be mistaken.

Could have injury issues or might just be working on his game out of the spotlight.

His career winnings are around $6.2 Million so he can probably afford to take some time off and try to figure his game out if he needs to.

He is currently playing on the Web.com tour....

since he no longer has full-time PGA Tour status although he did play in six PGA Tour tournaments earlier this season.

After finishing outside the top 125 on the money list, Stanley had to go to the Web.com Tour Finals last fall to secure his PGA Tour card for 2014-15, which he failed to do.

I thought I heard an announcer say recently the Lucas' exemption for winning The Open is about to run out, in which case he'll have to earn his card too.
