Did you hear Arbuckle on ESPN chastize Clemson for

"Rushing the Field"?
Once again, an ESPN announcer is unimformed and looking foolish.
Secondly, so what if we rushed onto the field? A last play goalline defensive stand!! That's something to get pumped up enough against anybody to storm a field.
Howeever, We do it every game! Sometimes it is with a little more gusto than other times. Students and kids storm the field even in a loss.
Lastly, we don't need your validation.

How can you work at ESPN and not have noticed that we always rush the field?

There are so many brainless dips on that network...I lose track. But I don't think it was him this time.

It was Jay Walker and he graciously issued and apology on twitter. ESPN should send a memo. It is annoying year after year

It was Jay Walker and Brandon Fitzgerald and it was obnoxious. They were laughing at us for "storming" the field. Glad fans straightened them out. You would think they would know by now! Annoying!

The talking heads at ESPN are always going to have something negative to say about Clemson. We always run onto the field and we are a passionate fanbase besides. They should just get used to it. We wear our hearts on our sleeves regarding Clemson athletics around here, and I am proud of that.

Jay Walker is a real SportCenterU hack

Works on a network specifically covering "U" that is college sports and doesn't know anything about a long standing tradition of running to the PAW at the 50 to sing the Alma Materm win or LOSE. Kids love it, they love to run around on a real football field and play, get autographs, take picture with players etc. I think even the opposing fans enjoy walking onto the playing surface to see what it looks like to be surrounded by those massive structures.

On a side note, I was speaking with a high-ranking member of the Athletic Department last December, and in the course of the conversation he indicated that the tradition of allowing the fans onto the field after the game is going to be a thing of the past "sooner rather than later" (is the way he put it). Apparently there is a contingent of folks concerned about the liability if someone gets hurt and decides to sue the university. I argued vehemently against it but he seemed pretty sure about the inevitability of this change. I hope that he's wrong, and that if it ever is made public that they are thinking about doing this that the fan base, especially the IPTAY fan base, sends a strong message in opposition. This tradition is one of the most unique things about Clemson football, and does as much as anything to promote a sense of unity and family among the fans and the team.
