It was the Syracuse game in 2022 where the wheels...

once again came off DJU and the Tigers as a result after a 7-0 start.

Clemson rushed for 293 yards on 60 carries, dominating the clock, first downs and in spite of 4 turnovers and a shaky performance in relief from Cade, managed a gritty, workman like comeback.

I tell that story to tell this one.

In game planning coming into today's contest, it appears certain Dino and Coach Long were not going to allow Clemson to rerun that nightmare by rushing up and down the field in front of a Cuse sell-out crowd.

Syracuse instead seemed set on forcing a young QB in only his 6th start, and having shown some tendency to put the ball at risk, to beat them... - and Cade didn't disappoint.

Some quick looks at Cuse' DBs in run support[~1 High]

BC Touch Down

10 defenders within 8 yards of LOS, man concept with Safety [#5] defensive right half.

Beaux runs a picture perfect stop/hitch 'n go and with deep help playing up, impossible for #5 to get back in support unless the ball is thrown too far inside, which it's not = 6.

Brown 47 Yarder

All 11 of Long's boys are within 8 yards of the LOS, in run support first[293 yards on 60 carries ain't happening], taking their chances that the corners can hold up and the 1 High can cover both halves of the field.

On the snap, #8 walks down on the mesh, #5 again run first look, then tries to get back for 1 High with Stellato running deep left[2nd image] as Brown is driving the numbers, putting #5 in the cooker...

#5 trying to split the field, hoping to help either side if needed...

A look from the back on snap, #8 walking it down run first help, both safeties looking backfield first, run first priority.

And Cade drops the dime, #5 can't get back.

Everything can get better, it's a constant work in progress, but it was most welcome to see how Riley and Cade took advantage of the challenge Cuse threw at them in the Dome.

Nice work! It was great to see Cade answer the bell today.

Thought he played very, very, good.

Cuse could have caught a couple of those outs and made it a much harder day. Other than that, great to see a downfield game.

Dang, old Friend, that's one heck of a recap.
