Is anyone talking about the revenue ACC revenue AFTER . . .

Aug 28, 2023, 10:40 AM

the first few years in which SMU, et. al take lesser shares?? It seems like everyone is making a huge selling point out of them taking lesser or even no shares for a few years, and hard-selling how much this will help the current members revenue-wise compared to our Big Ten and SEC competitors. But what I've not heard one peep about (at all), is how much the per-school take should be once those schools DO start receiving equal shares. That's what really matters in the end . . . not the front end lure. But I've heard no one talk about that at all. Maybe someone has addressed it somewhere - I'd be interested to hear the numbers.

No. No one wants to talk about that. They want to talk about the "slush fund" of $54 million that can be appropriated every year until that point. They don't want to tell you that after the initial 5-7 years, with each new school brining in $24 million, based on current figures, it would be roughly 3 million less per year, per school.

Pretty sure our President and BOT are smart enough to take

that and many other issues into account. They're the only ones who know the full plus and minus list, and I trust them.

These are the same people who agreed to a GOR...

that runs through 2036 which, at least to me, raises serious concerns about their competency.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Ok, you have a beef with Clemson and I don't, so we differ.

as legitimate concerns.

Why would you think the people who agreed to the GOR are smart?

Pretty much aligns with grant of rights expiration so we are gone by then anyway.

Most are betting the next true reorg to the super-conferences and new playoff system will happen before these schools would be eligible for full shares.

Everyone knows that Clemson and FSU will be leaving the ACC in a few years.

This Calford agreement lets the ACC add a few teams (to fill the hole left by Clemson, FSU , and others) to without breaking the GOR (immediately).

However, this deal does end the GOR as soon as these bottom feeders start to draw revenue away from Clemson and FSU).

Every conference in America is going to be drastically different in 15 years.

Even the SEC will change to get rid of deadweight Vandy and SCAR.
