I don't see how this happens. Jeff's dad works for Clemson too and he has a GREAT situation here with little to NO pressure making tons of money.
Not to mention the possibility getting a promotion working for a program MUCH better than SMU.
I'm still can't believe SMU was the "high profile" job Chad wanted....he must have REALLY missed Texas.

connections there and at a school that just went 0-11 with no expectations really. How can he go wrong? Not to mention another $1.5MM or so to boot.

I don't think this is the "high profile" job that Morris was looking for. I think he was just ready to get out of Clemson and head back to Texas.
My best guess is that he's trying to pull a malzahn and coach a lower tier team for a year and move up to his high profile gig in a year or two.
He doesn't necessarily have to win at SMU, just look at Chizik at Iowa State. IMO I'm glad Chad is gone. Don't get me wrong, we will miss him, but he wasn't a Clemson man and doesn't demonstrate the "All In" mentality like CDS and BV.
Best of luck to the Chad and may the next OC continue to improve our offense.

Yep. Not from any loyalty to Chad. But a route to HC. I think we will hear something sooner than later. Like the next two or three days.

The guy he hired I forget the name is from the Texas or Oklahoma area
