This month's CPI will be the first time they've ever excluded coffee. Freaking coffee. Seems coffee has gone up over 20% this year so far, so they decided to exclude it from CPI. Auto insurance premiums are skyrocketing as well. No problem. They excluded auto insurance in 2022. New car and truck prices are still very high. Not a problem, those were excluded in 2022 as well, when inflation was spiking.

You can add this stuff to gas, oil, energy, housing, and everything else that has inflated as well that they excluded in the past.

This is the same crap they did in the early 1980's to reduce inflation. BAck then they decided to exclude housing and energy. Too volatile they say.

Expect BLS to drop chocolate/cocoa from CPI data soon. Chocolate's going up bigly right along with coffee. It takes a few months for the inflation to show in prices as supply moves through the supply chain, then diminishes, raising prices. There's a lag between production issues, futures prices, then supply issues, then inflation at the store. The chocolate shortage is on the way along with coffee.

Didn't Jim Clyburn coach up Rep. Hank Johnson a few years ago to ask a Pentagon General if a Pacific island would tilt if too many buildings were constructed on one end of the island?
