Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine for children under 5 could be available by the end of February, people with knowledge say
Coronavirus vaccines for children younger than 5 could be available far sooner than expected - perhaps by the end of February - under a plan that would lead to the potential authorization of a two-shot regimen in the coming weeks, people briefed on the situation said Monday. Pfizer and its partner, BioNTech, the manufacturers of the vaccine, are expected to submit to the Food and Drug Administration as early as Tuesday a request for emergency use authorization for the vaccine for children six mo
In Denmark, right now, a child 0-2yo is more likely to be hospitalized FROM/WITH/whatever covid than any other age group, including 80+. Same thing happened in South Africa.
So yeah, anyway.....what is actually happening (to infants especially) is they are not dying from covid but they are getting infected with it. But their covid infection is weakening their immune system allowing them to be concurrently infected with multiple other nasty viruses, often at the same time. RSV, FLU, some are testing positive for multiple other viruses, and they're needing oxygen support and hospital care. Children are testing positive for multiple BAD viruses at one time at levels not seen been seen before. Sometimes 3, 4, even 5 viruses, at one time. And you can argue masks weakened their immune system, but they're 0-2yo, so no, something else is weakening their immune system.
