If Dabo was a stock…

I would buy all I could afford. Someone doesn’t get where he is by accident and everyone has a “dip” occasionally. He is still a young man at 50 and I do not believe he’s even hit his prime yet. I also think he knows what is wrong and will fix it, but he’ll do it in his own way and with class, probably with no mid-season firings, despite the grumblings of some of our discontented Tiger brethren. If “best is the standard” and “the best is yet to come” are principles with him and not just mottos to fire up the crowd, we’ve still got a lot of good football ahead of us. I hope we don’t run him off. Go Tigers!

No, Dabo didn't get to where he's at by accident, he had to work his butt off to get where he's at. But you can't deny that Dabo hasn't flirted with hiring X Clemson and Bama players without enough of big time college coaching experience, and I do believe that is where some of the teams inefficiency is coming from, inexperience coaching, or I will say the lack of knowledge coaching big time college FB.

I don't buy that. The oline and a QB headcase are the issues. Our oline coach is way beyond a Clemson/Bama tie. He coached up Vandy, in the SEC and has had us in 4 National Championships over the past 6 years. There has been plenty of experience to cover a fix. No, our headcase QB and Dabo not wanting to give on that case is all we are seeing.

Big Cinco has yet to show his ability to be mobile. Slow on his feet.
Second, his accuracy is about 50% based on his performance in 2021.
Third, he is not aware of his surroundings in the pocket or on the entire playing field.
Fourth, his ability to make positive decisions about handing off the ball to a rb or running the ball himself or passing the ball to option 1, option 2, option 3 receivers is lacking.
I can't remember in the past 45 years that Clemson has had a starting QB that weak in these areas and the head coach not make a change.
I hope I can eat my words over the next 5 weeks. Time will tell.

Extending the metaphor, the problem is that he may be GM

GM was on top and then floundered when it refused to adapt to the changing market.

Dabo is reminding me of musicians that lose that hunger and work ethic once they get successful. Dabo today is nothing like the Dabo in his early years where every position is up for grabs and tough decisions are made week to week. This year has been a huge disappointment in adjustments and coaching.
If you dont think Dabo peaked after 2 national championships I dont know what to tell you. Just another delusional fan among the sea of them everywhere.

I don't buy this either. Timing is everything and this is no different. Dabo cherishes building men first and that does not mean there is an all the time fit, it will come and go. Now is just not it.

He’s made his share of mistakes

And the season we are enduring may well be the result. But survivors and excellers learn and get better, even at this level. He is stubborn, and why not? Look at the success his core beliefs have wrought. Many successful people are this way, and slow to change to boot. Henry Ford comes to mind. Sticking to the values that got you here is not necessarily a bad thing. We will see if he is only stubborn, or obtuse as well. In the meantime, I’ll hold on to his stock a while longer.

That has everyone in disbelief, it's the dramatic nose dive of this offense. I have never seen anything like it. I don't think the solution is as simple as benching DJ either.

Agreed. Buy all the Dabo you can while team stock is underperforming.
It will be hard, but Dabo will divest or demote a good man and his good friend Tony Elliott after this season. It part of his job to fix what is broken, and there are too many exceptional OC's in the college ranks who would love to be the Clemson OC.
Then Dabo can focus on what he does best -- recruiting, building player-coach relationships, building character, building team chemistry, pep talks, behind the scenes player support, media relations, keeping it fun, and winning. Dabo is a strong buy.
