going to be a new coach here, and there should be."

Again, you may have bragging rights for the moment, but remember your place coots. You're still bottom feeders, you still ride coat tails, and you still celebrate being in the middle of your conference with 5th place rings provided to you by your WINNINGEST head coach in history, who got him a nice shiny brand new contract after about 35 wins in 5 years.

The best coach in their program's history has been there for almost a decade and hasn't won a conference title. We fired Bowden for that. But if Spurrier just beats us, they add another two years to his contract.

My counter to this is:
1. Should South Carolina not attempt to improve their program because they've been historically bad? 2. Dabo inherited a program in much better shape and with much better tradition that South Carolina. 35 wins in huis first five years at South Carolina does not equal 35 wins in five years at Clemson. Building the foundation of a program takes a lot of time. It doesn't happen immediately.

Didn't USuC just come off TWO Outback bowl victories (that accounts for about half their bowl wins right??) and they had turned their program around, and built it.. I mean, you already had ONE legend build it up from 0-11 right???
I guess when you keep building houses out of straw the big bad wolf's going to keep blowing them sumb!tches down...

Actually they were coming off of a 5-7 and 6-6 season which as well all know ended with the brawl. So no it wasn't in good shape at all when Spurrier took over.

Was pretty dang good around that part of the state. I mean, not every school prints ads saying congratulations on our teams finishing .500

Funny all the talk about "5th place rings" when Clemson just got "top ten" rings

Also, Bowden had 38 wins in his first 5 years and wasn't fired. So 35 wins would get you fired, but 38 wins is ok.

Bowden started coaching in 1999 before the 12th game was added. He went 38-24 in his first 5 years. That would equate to 41 wins in 5 years under the current schedule.

Both of South Carolina's rings were bowl rings as well, they just decided to emphisize 11 wins.
The Clemson rings and South Carolina rings are almost identical. Both list accomplisments of both teams, including the bowl wins and number of regular season wins.
I fail to see the difference

To be fair, the man has a point. The 11 win rings were bowl rings but they just chose to emphasis the 11 wins whereas Clemson just put a big paw in the middle of theirs. We can argue all we want but it's the exact same thing.

You're too stupid to realize the truth. The Coots rings were designed to promote Stevie and the fact that HE LED the team to their best season ever in the history of the school.
Had they been designed to promte the Bowl Victory and to a lesser extent their season record(things the players done) , it would have been a different story.
I know you Coot fans are a little ignorant and can't see the difference, it's there.

most of the #### fans i know still get mad when i laugh at them. They still know they are little brothers from a nobody school.
They are afraid it could collapse at any time. and unfortunately for them the curtain will be pulled back pretty soon.

Dabo is correct that 35 wins in 5 years is a fireable offense for Clemson...... as for South Carolina, they don't play in the ACC.

7-5 in the SEC is still ####. It puts you in line with the Vandy's, Kentuckys, and Auburns of the world that have a great season once in a blue moon but are usually pretty average.
