So what happened to VT since we're talking the shape of the ACC

Typically team falls off the map after a.coaching change.

VT had their all world HC and all world DC still and they just completely fell off the map and never came back.

They never recruited extremely well but always had a few studs.

Now they're brand is in the dumper and it's gonna be hard to get it back.

Their run in the ACC the first several years they joined was at the same time everyone else was down. Vick carried them in the 99 and 2000 seasons before the ACC, their best two seasons in program history.

I think Beamer had a formula with defense, special teams, running, play action that made VT a very competitive team in a bygone era and they tried to modernize and it didn't work. Similar to Nebraska although Nebraska ceiling was much higher and their program history much better.

A good VT, Miami and GT could have made a huge difference financially for the ACC.

When I was coming up the Miami/FSU game was a must see. Now I could care less. Has little to no implications on the national scene. Sad really.
