competitor, but he's got to suck it up at times like that. I don't know that I'd call him a diva, however. Hopefully he'll learn from this.

Well, he has been nothing but class up until that moment. I don't think I would like a camera stuck in my face for that long walk either after making a 7 on a Par 3. He was visibly upset with himself.

point, and it would be tough having cameras in your face at a time like that. I'm not bashing Speith. While his disappointment is understandable, that behavior was uncalled for, and he needs to know it. He won the Masters in spectacular fashion last year, so naturally cameras are going to be on you this year; nothing unfair or wrong with that. It;s great when you are winning, and sucks when you lose. If he learns from this and it doesn't become a pattern, no big deal; that's why I wouldn't call him a diva based on this one incident. Divas are created when we excuse bad behavior.

Ya, he got that good at golf without putting in any hard work. I bet if he would have let out his emotions on Amen corner he would be wearing the green jacket right now. He kept his cool on the Par 3 but you could tell his blood was boiling. Some people are not wired to show zero emotion when they are trying to make history. I think it is really weird to make a quad, lose about a million $, and then act like everything is normal. Not sure why golfers are expected to be emotionless drones. If I lost that much money in 10 min. They would have to put me on suicide watch.

Yeah you tell 'me grandpa!
Sheesh, take it too far much? You're extrapolating all of that about Spieth's character from a single moment when he just realized he practically Vandevelde'd away the biggest tournament in his sport? I hope no one ever caught you in a singular moment of weakness...

Give him a little slack he just lost the biggest major in his young career. He is human too!
I have seen grown men break or through clubs just over a few dollars at your local country club.

He was very respectful in asking and I dont feel he was out of line either. I am a little tired of sports medias desire to insert themselves as a part of every story.

I don't know. Seemed reasonable to me. He is a very well liked guy and one of the good guys.
He plays really slow is the worst part about him.

He said " not the face " ...at least that's what I heard . Like he didn't want his facial expression and obvious emotions on display that soon . I don't have a problem with him hating to lose , but you gotta let the cameras and microphones do their jobs to Jordy.

Just saw a post round interview on the golf channel
Apr 10, 2016, 10:05 PM
|

He appears to be a class act. He told the camera guy "not in the face, please" and he's all of a sudden a diva. If that's as bad as it gets for a 22 year old that blew a major over a 3 hole span, I'd say he's a good ambassador. If you want to see diva, look back at Rory Sabbatini or Vijay Singh. Those guys were absolute douchebags on the course.

I think the term "diva " is a bit overused these days . Mariah Carey is a diva . Liberace was a diva . A guy who let the Masters slip away within a 20 minute span on the final day should be allowed to pout a little . He recovered , did a decent interview a few moments later and we can all move on .

He's got young bald man complex
Apr 10, 2016, 11:08 PM

Much like Napolean complex, where deep seeded insecurities lead to angry outburst. It's not as bad as Bubba Watson's "wife is a giant complex", which makes him an arrogant jerk and generally unlikable.

Pretty sure Napolean Complex is for being short not bald and Jordan is pretty tall. Must still be working on that Psychology degree. Can't explain Bubba, but if you appreciate shotmaking ability he is the most entertaining player to watch in person and it is not that close. I could care less about his wife, if we wants to give me an autograph, or how well liked he is in a PGA Tour player gossip pole that some magazine made up.

Have met him years ago when he played against my son in some Junior PGA events. The guy is 100% class. Go back and watch again, he asks quite politely.

of their personna on the golf course. There are some, who I know personally, behave like perfect gentlemen, say all the right things in interviews, but personally are just downright jerks. Others (like Arnold Palmer) are exactly as you see them on the golf course and in private....just wonderful gentlemen. I don't know Jordan, but I suspect (and hope) that he is the nice young man that he has been portrayed as up until this point. I'll give him a pass on the camera incident and did not see anything that I thought was disrespectful to Danny Willett. Sometimes those presentations are awkward, but I feel sure he was not taking his frustration out on Willett.
