FSU was caught and being punished for using NIL to pay players outside of its intended purpose.

BUT what about the players involved. Why are they innocent? They know the rules and they probably knew the rules were being violated. Not only punish the school but punish the player as well.

If players are complicit (and we know they are), then the violations should include penalties not only for the school but for the player as well:
- Revoke all or part of their scholarship eligibility from member schools
- Player probation
- Player suspension

Everyone involved should be held accountable.

If the player knowingly benefits from NIL cheating, then the player should face the similar fates.

They were punished because a coach drove a recruit to an NIL meeting

and the schools aren't supposed to be directly involved with NIL. The player didn't really do anything wrong, though, and the rules probably aren't enforceable anyway if they get taken to court.

What!? Are you naive? These players know the rules....

I'm suggesting that if the rules don't exist to punish the player, then the rules need to change to hold the players accountable. The schools are investigated. I would assume the player's involvement would be investigated. If found to be complicit, punish them.
