them for an injury. Instead of ranking teams, the committee subjectively evaluated them.
TOTAL BS.
Plus they beat a now ranked Clemson team, which should have been a plus.

I always struggle with the how was the team when they were played or their body of work at the end of the year debate.

#3 TCU was dropped to #6 in the final rankings after winning 55-3.
It’s all about the money and getting desired matchups. They then just make up whatever reasons to try and justify it and not look like the liars that they are. For example, winning a conference championship is important, unless you’re named Bama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, etc. And they’ll flip flop from “eye test” to “resume” as needed. And keep a straight face while doing it.

The Committee's job is to rank the teams in the order they think is correct. If they don't believe FSU is top 4 because of the loss of Jordan, then they should not rank them there. Would we have been top 4 if Watson or Lawrence were knocked out for the season in week 10? Doubtful.
That said, saying they slip behind only Washington, which has not been particularly good, but ahead of Oregon, which currently looks much better, seems ridiculous.
Also, FSU went out of its way to score 58 unanswered to prove it is not a one trick pony. The Committee should have given that appropriate consideration, and at least have waited to see how they perform against Florida.

hated it because it proved not to work. We intentionally went to a subjective method to be able to rightly determine a champion. Never has there been a 5th ranked team that was capable of winning the championship. In my mind, this means the system works.

There is nothing wrong with subjective evaluations. In America we use subjective evaluations made by 12 people chosen at random to sentence people to death. Using a panel of people to evaluate who gets into the college football playoff is certainly OK in view of the fact it cannot be done any other way.

It does not matter because Ohio State plays Michigan this week and only 1 can win. Don't get excited if 1 flake of snow falls, wait until the roads and yards are covered.

Screw FSU. I dislike their fanbase almost as much as Ohio St (which is less than my dislike for UGA or the coots but even with UTenn). If you read their message boards, the average fan believes their program is better than our program. They believe they are the alpha in the ACC. They will not admit to being afraid to play us on our last visit to Florida.

Until Dabo they were the more respected program. During our recent run, we were the alpha unquestionably, but even then they still won a title.

I’d say the change had more to do with Washington beating #11 Oregon State than the injury to Travis. This was also the 3rd week in a row that Washington beat a ranked team, and 4th in the last 6.

I didn't watch any of the fake rankings show. Did ESPN repeatedly try to sell the idea of multiple SEC teams in the playoff? They do every year. If they haven't just wait and in two weeks we will hear the following non stop " Well if GA in undefeated and AL beats them then you have to put both in the playoffs regardless of ranking". Then the ESPN brigade will chirp on every radio and TV show shilling for the SEC to have two playoff spots.

The discussion was better than the rankings. Even the former Bama QB said Texas over Bama based on head to head, regardless of when it occurred.

You are correct, that’s total BS. The committee has always stated that they look at the body of work and they are not there to make forecast. Unfortunately, I don’t think FSU is going to beat Louisville so they will not come out of the top four anyway.

They would have remained in the top 4 if they were Alabama or OSU who catch all of the brakes including CFP rankings. IMO pressure from the west forced the CFP to include a team from the West Coast. Once again we see politics in action. FSU did get screwed !
OSU plays an average schedule. But if you listen to ESPN and other media sources OSU plays the most difficult schedule in the country. OSU would lose 2 or 3 games a year if they played in the and I hate to say but in the SEC. I believe Michigan should be number 1 or 2 the other top team is UGA.
To cover the cost of the big TV contracts and HC’s contracts being paid $10 million or more in salaries and coordinators being paid $1 to $3 million dollar salaries and now to cover the monies players are going to receive they are going to expand the CFP’s. Just like bowl games that grew from approximately 26 to close to 50 games now to increase revenue. It’s all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
I wonder what is will be the next big thing to increase ESPN’s and schools revenues.
Eventually I believe college football is going to collapse in on its self. It’s even possible professional sports is headed in the same direction. A friend who is an assistant AD and former HC firmly said the greed and huge monies being paid out cannot be sustained and cannot continue to grow.
I am curious as to how far back the courts will go for former players and who will cover that money those former players might receive.
CF is like an out control locomotive with faulty brakes.
I miss the simpler times when we would spend all day tailgating and go to the game. Then we would tailgate some more. No cell phones , no big HD TV ‘s with big satellite dishes. We had a 5” B&W TV that we plugged into our cigarette lighter to watch a game on channels 4 or 7. Great times. Little Ole Clemson was actually little ole Clemson.
