I Am Impressed With This Team And Its Future

I have heard all of the complaining over the last month about this team's challenges and, of course, they are obvious. Injuries abound on the offensive side of the ball (makes you wonder about their conditioning - defense has not been hit so hard). This team is special whether you realize it or not. I have been a Clemson fan for a long time since birth but really have memories back to the 74 season. I have seen the good times, 1977-1992. I have seen the hard times 1993-1999. I have seen the teasing times, 2000-2009 (close enough to be relevant but choke when it counts). These years under Dabo are building toward greatness. We will get there friends. He is building a program - not just 3 great years like down the road in Columbia. Clemson will be relevant for a long time. This program is being built the right way. Recruiting good kids. Managing the program the right way. Teaching them how to be NFL players and how to be men when football is over. Sure, this formula is frustrating at times, but it is working and it is building.
Just think about this team this year. I have never met a team that has the guts of this team. They could have folded after the 1-2 start, especially after the heartbreak of the Felon State University loss in overtime (after playing their hearts out). This team has character not seen in Clemson in a long time and is what I hope will be the future of the program. Kids giving their all and gutting it out through adversity. We are on a six game winning streak but people complain. Would you have complained in the lean years? This team is tough. This team cares. This team plays 4 quarters no matter the score. These wins have not been artistic masterpieces, but they each have been victories. I am not convinced that the offense will be scoring 40-50 a game when DW comes back (until we solve our OLine problems)but I think we will still win out. This team has heart. It has seen adversity. It has accepted it, swallowed it, and stood up and said we will fight. Always fight. Til the clock shows :00.
I love this team. The beauty of it that the program is headed into that sweet time again like 1977-1992. I feel it coming. This program is being built for the long haul not just for three great years like down the road.

We are out of anything but the Orange Bowl. Be realistic. And the Orange Bowl depends on FSU winning out (including the ACC champ game). But what I love about this team is that character is being shown this year that will build resolve going forward. We will start from a position of power next year and the start is what counts. If you are a top 10 team at the start is what matters. We have a team that can end this year with a great amount of respect for next year. I hate to sound like a Gamecock fan, but next year is our year. Seriously.

Huh? We got beat by 2 good teams. Well GA is not all that

good it turns out. Then we have struggled to win against average and bad teams. I agree ,if the schedule stays like it is. The ACC continues to produce many losers. Then we will remain relevant for years to come. That is reality, which doesn't sit well with Pumpers

If we were 100% healthy on offense and still had these struggles then you might have a point. However, those aren't the facts and as usual you don't have a point.

I guess our depth is what has carried us to 6 straight wins. Or we could've packed it like Georgia did last year after all their injuries.

That's exactly right. I know it doesn't sound good. When u say that, it sounds like u are a sec pumper or a coot. But its 100% the truth. If we played good teams the last couple of weeks, we would not be 6-2. I know everyone is going to call me a coot. The fact is I wish Clemson had the national respect of other schools, but until we start beating good teams, we are going to remain irrelevant. Beating wake and syracuse and BC isn't gonna do it.

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a Merry Christmas. The reality is we play the schedule we have. I don't care to discuss the hypotheticals is "what if we played an SEC schedule....."

You are right about that also. It is a bunch of speculation that we will never have an exact answer for.
