I agree about the portal but didn't we have more talent

on the field Monday than Duke did? We will never rise to the top without using the portal but in the meantime we have other issues. Scheme? Technique? Effort? Leadership? I really wonder about the last (leadership). It almost takes purpose to lose that badly in every facet of the game.

Nor did most of the losses over the last couple years. I think we had more talent than all of those teams. There is a serious issue in the coaching department within this program. Clemson is cratering right now and that is hardly an over-reaction as the downward trajectory started years ago, despite top flight recruiting rankings....

Not really. Clemson has never been like Alabama or Georgia. We have never had the talent, top to bottom, like those guys. We have had talent at certain spots, (mainly Quarterback, receiver, and defensive line). If Georgia and Alabama really wanted to, they could line up in the I formation and run it right at you. We can't do that.
Think how many times over the years we had 3rd and 15, and Mike Williams would go up and get a jump ball, or Travis Etienne would take a screen pass 30 yards. We honestly have had the problems all along, we just had some guys who could bail us out in the past. Now we don't.

Believe according to 247, we had the 5th ranked roster, talent wise. Duke was 60. Virtually every man in our 2 deep are 4 or 5 star guys. Thats just the facts. Clemson has been hauling in top 10 classes for years now.

the topic that a lot of people have seized on and think it's the core of everything bad.
We lost to Duke because of bad development/coaching at WR, bad development with the QB, and lack of leadership on defense. And just an odd amount of goofy mistakes from otherwise athletic people.
We had enough talent to beat Duke. But our WR's played like crap. And we didn't adjust our gameplan sufficiently to accommodate for this. Maybe we are trying to stick to an identity that doesn't match our capabilities. I don't know exactly.

OUR COACH HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE PORTAL WHY ONLY HE KNOWS THIS WOULD HELP A LOT I THINK
