Who do you think takes that role and exact position in 2019 when he is gone?

Why do you think Swinney will take over the position?

and possibly TJ Chase. I'd imagine we get another crop in the next years class as well. Its whoever can show they can run a route and have sure hands in traffic. Thats why Hunter has had the run he's had. Not alot of folks can do that.
We've had alot of fast guys with potential at his position but can you run the route correctly and catch the ball low to the grow with a defender draped over your back and trying to knock you off the route/catch. sure hands and sure routes is what Hunter is efficient at.And blocking efficiently for runs and screen passes.
If guys are worried about wanting the ball in space so they can bust a move and run long yards after the catch they'll be either discontent with the slot position or modifying the position so much that they'll never be effective. Those breakout YAC plays are there but are you willing to take the sit down route and quick out route the majority of the snaps.
I think RAY RAY was supposed to be our slot guy but i think he was more interested in running a post route than run a 5 yard out. ANd in my opinion his time here wasn't as efficient as i thought it was going to be.

I always forget about TJ Chase. He has some skills. We really are too deep.

No one. The spot will be retired in HR's name. We will play 10 on 11.

Hopefully Amari. He's going to be deadly. Him and Tee are going to do some really big things these next two years

Kendrick ain't a slot. He's a Sammy Watkins clone and he's almost certainly going to be a 2.
Best guess is DK splits time with Amari Rodgers at the 2 this year...I like Rodgers a lot, actually, but Lord Have Mercy is Kendrick ever a different sort of animal. If he pans out like he might I dunno if anybody is holding him off, he's just that talented.
TJ Chase is likely the successor in the slot unless Cornell Powell moves inside and beats him out, IMHO. He's very good.

WHat's kind of crazy though is that we have to get them all on the field. Maybe someone like Kendrick or another stud ends up in the slot just because. It's going to be interesting to see how it all plays out.

his bread and butter at the next level is a slot guy. He can get away with playing WR2 as well but we have too many dudes that will need to see the field next year and i'd like to see two bookends on at the WR1 and WR2 and a speedster at Slot and a speedster at the motion/backfield receiver. Our slot guy should get 7-10 attempts a game. That's where I want to see him. With his hands on the ball making plays.
