It's the new reality. I don't like it. Dabo REALLY doesn't like. But it's the way it is. You can't get the worms back in can.

Great question. For me, I used to be a huge college football fan and ingested as many games as possible. Now, I pretty much only watch Clemson games.

Same here. Only difference is I can see the day, and not too far off, when I’ll begin to fade on Clemson games.

Losing three games and two of them being to the coots and hillbillies bothers me but I don't give one hoot about the NIL because I do not believe money will buy what being faithful and upright offers.
Those NIL vultures have substituted economics for ethics. We don't need them. Where they gather doesn't matter to me. My Cherokee Grandmother said, "If you fool with chit you'll get it on you."
I'm glad Dabo and I share an opinion on the NIL. Let the whoars sell themselves to someone foolish enough to pay for prostitutes.
I believe the NIL will see many, many high paid coaches filing for unemployment in the future. Give it a few years and fires will burn bright.

I think I will try and find an NFL team to pull for.
Their players don’t quite in the middle of the season.

It has a little because of the principle of the issue.

In principle, NIL sets up some schools to have advantage over others. I am absolutely shocked and dismayed that the NCAA hasn't done more to mitigate that advantage.
As for TP, I don't like the idea of welching on a commitment. But I haven't kept track of how many major contributors we've lost, so in practice the TP may not hurt us.
I don't like the way money has been handled in general in the NCAA. I don't know the details of CDS's contract, but I know I don't believe anyone merits $11 mil a year, outside of surgical specialists.
Bad tackling has tempered my fire for fb, a little, as well.

No doubt it has changed the way I look at the possibility of CLEMSON winning a Championship. I will always root for CLEMSON but it is now an expansion league for people to young to go to the NFL strait out of high school. Don't like it when an 18 year old gets paid for not doing a #### thing!

NIL I am ok with…Idiots invest money into an idiot 18 year old is their prerogative...
The transfer portal is what’s truly killing the game and is more harmful to players in my opinion.

We have not lost a game because of NIL, we lost the games because on that day, the other team was better.

Love college football and love the Tigers but I’m definitely not as passionate. Thinking seriously about not renewing my season ticket. I think going forward, when a team wins it all there will always be the question of how much they cheated to win it. NIL and the portal has really hurt the sport by unintended consequences.

compared to the value that they generate to line the pockets of millionaires and billionaires and they couldn't even make $5 on their #### signature. That argument isn't going to work with me.

Honestly, a lot, though I'm sure our not being very good for a couple years hurt a little too. I used to be one of the most voracious football fans you could imagine. All week, I'd listen to podcasts and shows about college football, I did three different pick-em leagues and college fantasy and a little sports betting. I'd watch games from noon to midnight every Saturday, as well as those that appeared on Thursdays and Fridays.
But even though college lacks any kind of competitive balance (unlike the NFL), it's getting worse. The gap between UGA, Ohio State, Alabama, and everyone else is staggering. It's hard to get excited for football games where there are blowouts most games. And as I wrote in the other thread, even though I still root for Clemson and watch our games, I'm no longer viewing our athletes the same way in the days of NIL and the portal. They're now just pros biding their time for a better offer to come along.
So, I think for Cade's time at Clemson, I will stay invested, but I won't watch other games as much. After him, I think the transformation will be complete, and there's no reason to watch any college games compared to the NFL.

While I will always pull for the tigers, I’m a much bigger NFL fan than I used to be. Now that we have essentially two paid pro leagues the NFL is the most balanced and equitable. They also seem to care more about the average fan.

I will always pull for my tigers, but this in the long run will ruin the game. You can buy a team. No loyalty, and no commitment. Free agency with no contracts and no salary caps. It will be the minors for the NFL.

The Tommy Bowden days taught me not to get too high or low. That carried over to even the CFP winning days.
I’ve always considered most FBS scholarship players to be athlete-students and not vice versa.
I’m pretty jazzed about the 12 team playoff though.

There are personal reasons that keep me hanging on the my love for college football.
But, on the other hand,....
Free agency and strikes destroyed my interest in major league baseball. Free agency and fantasy football destroyed my interest in NFL. (More people root for players than for teams today.) One and done destroyed my interest in college hoops.
I'm trying desperately top hang on to my interest in college football, but.....
