It’s like they don’t want to give out TUs because they are afraid other people will eventually overtake them. So they are super stingy w them.
Father G® is an exception and Beefsteak® will give them out as well. But there are certain people that don’t and my thought is that they want to protect their lead.
I could name names but I’d rather not.

Would be sad if true.
I don't even know how many points I or anyone else has. Don't look. That said, sometimes I just ain't got no time for extra nonsensical clicking.
Same with awards. Have never given one and don't even know how it works, nor do I care.

At least for those who get upset about getting TD.
That being said, I also think people should be gratuitous with points when they can. Spread the cheer even if it's pointless. I'll even TU the ### hats on Politics I don't like if they land a good one every now and then.

Who GAF about a "points lead"? That feels pretty middle school-ish.
I give out points when someone makes me laugh or smile, posts something interesting or informative, is going through a rough spell and needs a pat on the back, or if I'm going back and forth with someone to make sure they know I'm joking. I'm glad some people point everything and I appreciate them, I'm not ever going to be one of them, and it's definitely not because of some "lead". It's because if I'm going to spend a bunch of time doling something out to people, it's going to be something that actually means something to me, like attempts at good humor.
That would be like me saying you're hoarding your coins because I've given like 300 coin awards and you've given none.
I can't believe people are still talking about points. Hey, I pointed your OP!

was to check the %. I was at about 94% positive or whatever it was called and wanted to see how many I had to TU to get up a point. At that time I had about 20,000 TU's, so it took a while, slowly I could get another % point back and it became an addiction to then see if I could get to 100%.
By that time, only Sockercrazy had given out more TU's than me and I was catching him, so I went all in and caught him. That was around 200k.
