Hard to accept that Florida State isn’t Florida State anymore

I was a junior at CU when Puntrooskie happened right in front of me, and a senior the next year when we got payback in Tallahassee. I was a recent grad when FSU came into the conference and dominated for 20 years.
Don’t get me wrong, I am happy to see them get some humble pie, but wow. It is going to be hard to train my brain to accept that we are in a different league than them now, and probably will be for years to come.

group while their amazing run was going on.
(Lord - help us maintain HUMILITY as a Family . . . I have seen the other side and it is UGLY)
Being in Florida - it was unbearable for a LONG time.
I was at puntrooski, I was in Tally the next year, I sat by myself at the 57-0 beat down in Tally years later, I drove through the night to be at the "we skrong too" debacle . . . .
I very quietly LOVE their complete collapse. Mweans WAY more to me than the stoopid chickens & all their misery. Mainly because they have been miserable their whole existence - so it is nothing new.

But FSU only won 11 in a row. It’s 11-6 Clemson since then.

I dont buy the FSU has to be good in the ACC argument. You need several good teams but it doesnt solely depend on them. Sometimes biggies lose their way. Look at So Cal and Nebraska granted they havent fallen as badly as FSU

Remember when the FSU fans used to chant "who's your daddy?" at Tommy Bowden? Yeah, I remember when the 'Nole fans were as cocky and arrogant as we are now. All good things come to an end I guess.

anymore...but if the conference is to be relevant we need FSU to return to those days when you were a Junior. And it wouldn't hurt to see Miami revive its fortunes. Or Ga.Tech of the early '90s Look I get that the SEC is the predominate conference, but if you look top to bottom, only Bama, Florida and Auburn have National Titles since 2000. On the flip side, it's just been Clemson and FSU.So we are not that far off. But we need FSU.

I don't agree. FSU can and will recruit the heck out of Florida and the rest of the southeast. The right coaching staff can turn that program around very quickly, they have all the resources and talent necessary to be successful. Only a matter of time

It seems longer than it was, but they were truly great only from '87 to 2000,

and they went undefeated only once, in '99. After 2000 is when the wheels started coming off with Chris Rix at QB. They had a hell of a run, but I'm certainly not sorry to see them struggle. I went to many Clemson/FSU games and their fans were as arrogant as it gets. I hated the years we had Tommy and they still had Bobby and the media had to interview the mother/wife every year to ask her how she 'felt' about her husband going against her son. Anyone who witnessed puntrooskie had a special place in their hate for FSU. I hope they blow this hire, too.

Also witnessed several of the subsequent embarrassing RUTS games. They have sown the wind. Let them reap the whirlwind.
That said, the annoying thing to me is hearing every talking head and keyboard expert say Clemson doesn't deserve to be in the playoff because FSU and Louisville are down. Now, those aren't the words they use, but if you follow the ain't-played-nobody logic to its conclusion, that's what you get.
