Great Clemson moment

I brought my youth group to Orlando for the holiday weekend (going to Universal Studios). I went to the cafe here at the resort we're staying at and the guy behind the counter pointed at my Clemson hoodie and said, "The greatest college football experience I ever had!" I asked if he was talking about the Orange Bowl seeing as he was a local. He said, "No, I went to the Auburn game last year in Clemson and the atmosphere and experience was the most amazing them I've ever experienced!"
That was a great Clemson moment for me.

A few years ago I was in Disney world on vacation with my family, one day while we were there I wore a Clemson shirt to the one of the parks and you would be surprised at how many people said "Go tigers" or "Go Clemson". The day after the LSU game I wore a Clemson shirt and got the same kind of replies which was surprising because I live In myrtle beach and there are mostly SC fans that live here

We are not only known in the US.

While on a 3 week vacation in Europe in 2000, my son and I entered a store in Oberamaggau, Germany. I was wearing a Clemson sweatshirt(it was July, but we were in the German Alps near Austria and it was about 34 degrees) and he had on a Clemson baseball cap. The owner of the store pointed to our Clemson articles and said "Go Tigers". It blew me away. He proceeded to tell us about his son graduating from Clemson years earlier. He even visited one time and attended a football game. It was cool to have met a fan so far away and to know that our brand is known world wide.

You guys have some great stories. This was my first true "outsider" experience. Living in Duluth/Alpharetta, GA area, I come across more Clemson than SCar (even GTech) fans. It was great to see the pure elation on his face while talking about our Tigers. Keep the stories coming TNet

I once ran into a fellow alumni (much older than me) in a bookstore/trinket shop in Albuquerque. I think that's my record for most distant random Clemson contact.

since I had on a Clemson shirt as usual, I went over to see who it was. Turns out it was a singer and his wife from Pendleton who travel the Northern fairs in the summer. Funniest thing is that they were performing at JC park this fall and remembered me. It feels so good when you're away to make a connection w/ Clemson!

lost since Tigers had just beaten OK Sooners in Florida at same time.
In fact, I watched the game on a battery operated TV I'd bought since I knew I would be a the Rose Bowl Parade..and kept up with game all the time..as well as during the bus ride over to Pasadena for the Game...and while in the rest room (in a stall) a guy taken a leak yelled out that Clemson had just cost him $100 due to their beating Sooners...and I yelled "Go TiGERs"...and he cuss me as he left.
I was all smiles as I walked to my seat entry area...and that's when the NBC exec saw my Clemson gear and asked if I was lost...jokingly.

Recruiting in England

Some years ago, I was looking for a winch part for my old sailboat. Found the part in England and the guy was nice enough to send it to me as a "sample" for free.
I sent him back a boat pennant knowing that he was a sailor too. He has two sons and related that they were crazy about it. Now hangs on the wall of his shop.
