Oh, how was mine you ask? Since you asked, I went to the last of 4 free Kevn Kinney shows in East Nashville with my wife and another couple. Staked out a little table by the stage and about 5 minutes before the show a guy taps me on the shoulder and asks if anyone is at the table next to us. I look up and it’s Chris Robinson with the entirety of the Black Crowes with him—knew it was gonna be a good night at that point. (Still not sure why they were all in town—maybe rehearsing for the tour that starts in June?)
Probably 100-150 people in the room max, and for the next 3 hours it was Kevn, Laur Joamets (on dobro and and guitar—dude was fire, seriously some of the best slide playing I’ve heard in a long time) and Aaron Lee Tasjan on keys. Throughout the night he was joined in stage by Tom Clark (solid NYC singer/songwriter), Elizabeth Cook, Audley Freed and others for stuff from his DNC and solo catalog to an Elvis cover to a cover of REM’s Wendell Gee. I’d wager 3/4 of the room were musicians and it was nice to see the appreciation the guy got.
Oh yeah, the price for the show? Free. I continue to love this town. Just a special night that will stay burned far closer to the front of my memory banks than the back I hope as time goes on.

I understand he'll be back again in October at teh Hanahan amphitheater playing Dogapalozza though. This might be a big one for him--Mark Bryan may sit in with him on mando.

Nice breeze on Wrightsville Beach for LAX, can't complain too much. My new ENO Lounger chair was really nice to sit and watch. However, the lack of accuracy when shooting meant you had to keep your head on a swivel the whole time.
Did you know Wrightsville Beach PLUS Lacrosse = Super White and Super Milfy?

Logged off work a little early, started a fire in the pit...

turned on a bluetooth speaker and cracked a beer.
Then the phone rang.
Wife heard a tick-tick-tick-tick while driving home from work, so she pulled over and saw this:
I said it'd be fine to get home like that as long as it stays plugged. Spoiler alert: It didn't stay plugged. Extinguished fire, turned off speaker, put beer in fridge, put on cape, went and rescued wifey. I swapped the tire with Red Bull pit crew efficiency and we were back in business. Then I went home, started the fire again, got my beer, and turned on the bluetooth speaker.

Did you jack it with the jack in the car or did you bring a bigun with you?
Did you use the lug wrench in the car or did you bring tools with you?
A part of me, who knows how to change a flat tire on the side of the road, says, you know what, next time, why not just call a dude to do the work for me. He will probably be done before I would and it may or may not be covered by "free road side assistance".
There's also the extra safety value in a man with a truck with large flashing lights.

Turned out I only needed the floor jack. Luckily she was able to pull into a parking lot, which made it convenient.
Last time I got an unexpected flat the truck took like two hours to get to me and when it did they didn't have a lug wrench in the right size. Not a great experience.

I threw the floor jack in the back of the truck just in case. Lucky me I got to change a trailer tire in the middle of summer just 2 hours later.

No jack required. Just drive up on (2) 2x4's stacked on top of each other with the other tire. The flat one will lift up by itself.
I haven't had much luck with trailer tires ferrying boats long distances.

Writing a book about Murcielago's experience,

feedback appreciated
Once upon a time, in a quaint little town nestled amidst rolling hills, there lived a man named Murcielago. Known for his love of fire and beer, he cherished spending his evenings by the crackling flames, sipping on his favorite brew. Murcielago was content in his routine, until one fateful evening when his wife, Mrs. Murcielago, found herself with a flat tire on the deserted outskirts of town.
Mrs. Murcielago was driving back home after visiting her parents when she heard a loud hissing sound. Pulling over to the side of the road, she discovered her car had a flat tire. A feeling of helplessness washed over her as she realized she had no idea how to change a tire. With no one else around, she decided to call her husband for assistance.
As Murcielago sat by his cozy fire, entranced by the dancing flames, his phone rang. It was Mrs. Murcielago, her voice filled with worry and distress. She explained her predicament and pleaded for his help. Murcielago sighed, torn between his love for his fire and beer and his duty as a husband.
Reluctantly, he extinguished the fire, set his beer aside, and made his way to the car. In the cold night air, he found Mrs. Murcielago standing beside the car with a worried expression. Murcielago gave her a reassuring smile and took charge of the situation.
With his vast experience in handling all sorts of mechanical troubles, Murcielago retrieved the spare tire from the trunk and proceeded to jack up the car. As he effortlessly removed the flat tire and replaced it with the spare, he explained each step to Mrs. Murcielago, teaching her the basics of tire changing along the way.
Though it took some time, Murcielago's patience and guidance paid off. The fresh tire was securely fastened, and the car was once again ready to hit the road. Mrs. Murcielago felt a sense of accomplishment, grateful for her husband's assistance and for the newfound knowledge she had gained.
As they both stood back, admiring the work they had done together, Murcielago's mind wandered back to the fire and beer awaiting him at home. Sensing his thoughts, Mrs. Murcielago thanked him profusely and suggested they head back so he could enjoy his well-deserved relaxation.
With a relieved smile, Murcielago nodded and helped Mrs. Murcielago into the car. As they drove back to their cozy abode, his mind was at peace, knowing he had fulfilled his responsibilities as a husband. He looked forward to resuming his cherished fire and beer, feeling a deeper sense of contentment after having come to his wife's aid.
Upon reaching home, Murcielago wasted no time in reigniting the fire. He grabbed his favorite beer from the fridge and settled into his favorite chair, reveling in the warmth and crackling sounds that had been temporarily interrupted. As he sipped his drink, he couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction, knowing that even in the midst of his beloved routine, he had been there for Mrs. Murcielago when she needed him the most.
From that day forward, Murcielago's fire burned a little brighter, and his beer tasted a little sweeter. The experience had deepened his appreciation for the moments he shared with Mrs. Murcielago, reminding him that sometimes, stepping away from our comforts can lead to the most meaningful connections.

Well, my night was spent exhausted and crashing early

due to walking the 9 hole new par 3 course at Augusta National twice, and also playing the big course (with cart). The new par 3 course is un-freaking-believable and a blast to play. And the big course was awesome, as always. They fed us all the beer you wanted, and a pretty darn good lunch, and I scored some great swag in the golf shop at 50% off. The weather was freaking perfect, and the company was great.
Not sure whose day was better, as it sounds like both of us had incredible experiences. I'll call it a draw.

but Augusta National does not have a course rating or slope, so there is no way to post a score to GHIN.
Shot 88 (41/47), didn't count my putts but putted like assss. Had to be over 36. I usually putt the eyes out there because the greens are so good, and usually shoot 75-80 but just didn't have it yesterday. The greens were rolling slower than they normally do and I never could figure out the speed. And ball striking fell apart on the back nine after the beer kicked in. First pass through on the par 3 (before starting drinking) was bogey on the first hole and the rest pars.
