Am I the only one that doesn’t even understand what they mean by this lmao??
Do they get in the huddle and just draw up plays in the dirt like my rec league flag football game? Actually that’s not true, we have a base of 10 plays at least lol, what a joke! Our flag team offense is more complicated than FSU offense.

Right? Is it just: “Okay. Let’s see what happens”? “Well, that didn’t work; let’s try something else.”

I think they are delaying the use of a "book" as long as possible.
Most FSU athletes are allergic to books.

Maybe they should be like the guy that read a book during our beat down of the Noles in Tally...

I assume he means that they go over plays in meetings and players have to create their own version of a play in their notes. Kind of forcing players to recreate the play book through dictation to help them learn it. Interesting. Could have benefits im assuming. We'll see come the fall.

I reckon if the offense doesn't know where the ball is going

it will be even harder for the defense to figure it out.
I'm sure this will end well for them.

I were trying to get my buyout money as quickly as possible.
I'd also have the players do yoga instead of conditioning and weight lifting.

its simply a diff kind of learning/teaching. guys walk thru a play and take their own notes instead of seignior a diagram. for me, i don't see the big deal.

Exactly. They are focused on learning the concepts. They'll probably study the playbook during the summer and install it during fall camp. Certainly can't sleep on Briles, he's a huge upgrade. I'd imagine the offensive line will still hold them back overall though.

Briles is from that Mike Leach/ Air Raid school. There really isn't a "playbook". You can put the entire offense on a dinner napkin. It's almost entirely RPO (run-pass option) based.
Baylor's offense could be learned in about 15 minutes - I'm not joking, Jarrett Stidham actually explained it (in its entirety) on one guy's podcast back when he transferred to Auburn.
The simplicity of does Air Raid help you go fast. Think to the times when it worked against us - the Orange Bowl in 2012 against West Virginia, or the Tangerine Bowl in 2002 against Leach and Texas Tech - and you can see how badly they can get you...when the matchups are in their favor. Even Syracuse is using a variant on the Air Raid at the moment though Dino Babers uses some two-back Spread-I formation to occasionally mix in some punch-you-in-the-mouth with their usual 4-and-5-wide finesse passing sets.
The problem gets to be when the other team has equivalent (or better) talent and has the ability to disguise their coverages. Then what happens is you start going 3-and-out a lot or, worse, turning the ball over, and your defense in turn gets prison-snuggled because they're on the field for 40 minutes.
Tempo is great, when it's working. Taking what they give you is great, when it's working. Leaning or your athleticism and "getting your athletes out in space" is great, when you have the superior athletes.
If you don't, it's going to be a long game. And you tend to blow lesser squads off the field and sort of impersonate a bird running into a glass door when you run into the elite ones.
If FSU wants to do that, more power to 'em. Have at it, Seminoles.
