I don't know about high school, but at the college level every game video is reviewed and critiqued by the officials themselves and by the league office. The officials are graded on their performance - and can face consequences for poor grades. Bias and dishonesty will show up in the film.

They are graded, but often times will not be critiqued or graded too harshly. For example, if I have an F- Season and everyone knows it....I would still return the following season with the same crew.

Each conference has a circle/group of guys who all work together. Imagine that type of setting.

The NFL on the other hand will critique their people at the highest standard. They will demote. They will not hire back. Collegiate level......you are going to get those guys for better or worse no matter what.

At the high school level we do not have any bodies available to call. Everyone can complain, but nothing can be done until viable candidates are produced/coming up the line/recruited.

Its a bad state right now for officiating everywhere high school and below. The good guys you want are all retired or just did not want to get disrespected every 5 seconds by moron kids/coaches.

Its not really that big of a deal in college yet because they get to be selective and pay great money these days. I would say the issue exists in lower college ball for sure, but even then those low level college guys are hoping to move up

I don’t know - seems like the head ref knew by where the sticks were it was a first down before they measured. Then when you are supposed to anchor the little thing on the chain to an actual yard line before you walk out with the sticks clearly this guy had no confidence his crew knew how to do that as he watched the marker move two yards downfield. Rather than go through the S show with his crew that he’d probably gotten tired of trying to watch figure out how to do so, he just moved the stick back where it was and scooted the ball up because it was clearly a first down before they measured.

Ummm. That's some pretty specific, unfounded speculation. And, even if true, it still does not excuse how this was handled.

Ref should be fired and banned.
