Scott & Morris were both there. If it was dangerous, they would not let them do it.
FWIW, that is nothing. I used to jump off Route 11 bridge and YMCA Bridge all the time.

15 ft high. Nothing compared to the rock wall on Lake Jocassee, that rock wall you can jump from about 30 or 40 feet and is fun...but nerve racking the first few times!

I was there earlier this summer and it’s safe (plenty deep) unless you are clueless in the water. I can guarantee you their lives were more in danger driving over there from the Clemson campus.

Its maybe dump for folks that doesn't care for high octane adventure of challenging their courage for the excitement. I use to love it, and have been there done that most of my life, or half of it anyway. Things of that nature can be very dangerous, and should never be done alone.

Pretty cool way to build team unity. It's easy to forget these guys are kids sometimes will all the expectations heaped on 'em.
Good to see them having fun.

I think it was a player band. I think it's worth noting...and agree with you. But I don't think that was officially part of the deal.

RELAX....this is perfectly safe. I've done it probably 200 times, and seen kids like 5 jump off. The risk is definitely worth the reward. You know what recruits will think when they see this? "I get to hang out on the lake WITH the coaches and have fun?!!" Good, clean, fun that is. What should they be doing? Smoking pot? Some of the old farts on here look at walking to the fridge to get a coke as dangerous. LIVE LIFE. The only regrets you have are the things you don't do. Good for them, and very nice to see them build team unity. This kind of stuff goes a LONG way. Trust me, it did for me.

Yes. toward the north end from the ###. I think on the left

But I am not sure. It has been 20 years and I was probably inebriated during about all of those "boat rides". I do know that it was not hard to find. We always passed right by it 'to and from' the Jocassee ###.

If u are going up lake towards ###. When u go past Hwy 11 bridge stay on right side of lake. Take the first channel to the right. It will be narrow and u will come to a island. Go to the right side of island and u will be at cliff. Enjoy jumping we do it all the time.

Reminds me of sliding down the ### into Hartwell from Lake
Aug 18, 2012, 5:07 PM
|
|
Issaqueena back in my younger (college) days. The water in Issaqueena was cold as all get out even in summer, while Hartwell was bath water. A few times there were guys that would dive off the walkway down into Hartwell. Never had enough beer in me to do that!

I am with you, but I had a few friends bounce off the bottom
Aug 18, 2012, 9:42 PM

of the ### jumping off. Lots of bruises and broken arms. Jumping off the cliff at Jocassee was a lot safer( climbing up from the bottom...not from the top). It is very deep and straight down. Keowee( where they were) was fum too,but it was always crowded.
