Early Class of '23 Buzz

I have started gather info about the next class so I figured I would let y'all know what I am hearing rather early.
-Let's start with the #1 overall player in next year's class and that is Georgia D-Lineman Lebbeus Overton. He has connections to many different schools most notably his father worked in Alabama's athletic department while Saban was still the coach, he also has a few connections to A&M. His June visit swing included stops to A&M, UGA, and Alabama. Clemson is expecting Overton sometime in the last week July for dates TBD. That is an important word "dates" Overton should be in Clemson for a multiple day visit. UGA could be a player, but I see this being a Clemson vs Alabama battle in the end, and I know Alabama has some connections, but Clemson is the dream school.
-Next is the #2 overall player and maybe the biggest name in recruiting history in QB Arch Manning. He made a visit swing in June that started in Clemson and he also visited Texas, Alabama, and UGA. After speaking with people I think the top 3 currently are Clemson, Texas, and Alabama and it could very well be in that order. Wouldn't it help if Arch's favorite player happened to be the last #1 overall pick, because it is, Trevor is Arch's favorite player. In the end I think it is going to be really tough for any team to beat Clemson here. The other two teams have a shot but Clemson has more factors going in their favor. If Clemson were to land Arch I think you could see Clemson's best recruiting class simply based on pull alone.
-#3 overall player Peter Woods. Clemson moved the needle a lot here and I think are now top 2 with Bama, but you are dealing with a kid from the state of Alabama. Same thing with DE Kelby Collins top 2 with an in-state Bama kid, so you have to make sure that another Alexander situation does not happen.
-Next is WR Brandon Inniss. He is most definitely a strong OU lean. However, I think that Clemson visit went better than both sides expected and it resulted in an offer, he visited the same day Arch was throwing. For Clemson to have a shot Inniss has to get out of the Summer uncommitted to OU, but there is some confidence they can land him if he does.
-Clemson made a strong impression with its two offered RBs. First, the national battle will be for Richard Young, who Clemson expects back on campus in the Fall, again national battle there. Then you have UGA legacy Justice Haynes. I think that Clemson has a very legitimate shot to beat UGA here, and it could be the first time the acquisition of CJ pays off.
-Then there is 5* CB AJ Harris I think OSU, Clemson, and UGA in that order. UGA has kind of blown this one when they had a large lead to begin with. Clemson has a shot to win this through some connections, but I would not favor them right now. His trainer is an OSU fan and I have been told he is pushing him toward OSU.
-Then there are two in-state OL to keep an eye on. One in Monroe Freeling has already been offered and the other is OT Markee Anderson. I do not think that it will take long for Clemson to wrap these two up IMO.
-Clemson's top slot receiver for next class is WR Nathaniel Joseph. Clemson has been on him longer than any one. I expect his recruitment to blow up eventually and Clemson will have to fend off the big dogs but hopefully the early relationship will help Clemson here.
-Caleb Downs was the first guy offered at midnight on June 1st. Clemson leads here, but I think Bama, UGA, and UNC will make them work for it.
-Finally D-Lineman Victor Burley. After talking with one guy UGA and Clemson left June in the best spot.
-Have a great weekend Tigernation!!

That would be an insane class but I have not really heard a lot there.
I know he grew up a South Carolina fan and he camped but he did not get an offer. Bates was in contact during lockdown was the last I heard. May see how things go with the others before offering.

Nope. Go back to where TigerNet introduces Paw. It uses the pronoun, “he”.

Thanks for the info as always.
Have you heard anything more about Noah Rogers from NC? I think you had brought him up before as a WR to look out for.

You are correct I did mention him in previous updates. Unfortunately, I have not heard anything very recently as far as him and Clemson. David mentioned that he stood out at his camp at Clemson but an offer was never produced. I will say I know that UNC and NC State are pushing really hard early here.

Honestly none of this speculation matters any more now that someone can legally swoop in at the last minute with a bag of cash and take away a recruit that had been a long time projection to come here. I'm going to spend a lot less time really caring one way or the other until someone actually signs on the bottom line. Hope we are printing money as hard as we can because the "Clemson experience" isn't going to mean what is used to going forward.
