Maybe Jacksonville trades the Trevor pick to Houston for DW4? That would be wild ??

I want DW4 to get out, but Trevor deserves better, too.

DW4 should have gotten out of Texas with Nuk. When they made that stupid trade and got nothing for one of the top receiver in the NFL, that should have told Watson all he needed to know. If the Texans had gotten a couple of O-linemen with the washed up running back it would have been a little more tolerable. Or if they had racked up some 1st and 2nd round draft picks for this year, but the got an old, washed up running back. They are a dime a dozen in the draft. Deshaun get out now at any cost before they cripple you.

Houston has made a ton of bad decisions with their roster, but there's more to the Hopkins trade than what people keep assuming. He was going to sit out with Houston until he received a new deal. Houston could not afford this while also signing Watson to a new deal. In fact, the Cardinals turned around and gave Hopkins the deal he wanted after they traded for him. The Cardinals could only afford the deal because Murray(their QB) is still on a rookie deal.
In fact, the only teams that could afford Hopkins were teams in a similar situation as the Cardinals that had quarterbacks on rookie deals. That fact obviously limited the market for Hopkins. A team isn't going to give up a ton of assets to receive a player when they know the team that's trading him doesn't have any other options.

Also, I don't think David Johnson was all that bad. Keeping in mind the circumstances I mentioned above, and that it wasn't as if Houston traded Hopkins for Johnson straight up while thinking the two players were of equal value.
Houston needed a running back, so he did feel a need. He actually set a career high in yards per carry this season, and averaged 84 total yards per game this season which is pretty good IMO considering the poor OL play.

The ownership group who hired and promoted O’Brien is garbage. Caserio could be a step in the right direction but who knows?

Good for him. DW4 is my all time favorite Clemson player. He is simply amazing!

I believe DW4 is designated a "franchise" player, so I doubt he could leave, even if he wanted. NFL history is littered with the stories of great QBs that languished most or all of their careers on lowly teams. Some of you older TNeters might remember Dandy Don Meridith, who gave up his health and career trying to make the expansion Dallas Cowboys relevant.

Thanks for mentioning Dandy Don "Turn out the lights, the party's over" Meredith. I am a Cowboy fan, long suffering I'd admit but would love seeing DW4 in "Big D". I would like to see Trevor there is well, but that wish has about as much chance as Dallas getting Roger Staubach back in his prime.

No, your "franchise player" information is incorrect.

The only thing keeping him there is his contract. If DW4 wants to be traded then he can demand a trade and sit out...Houston has 2 options: 1) trade him, and I am guessing DW has a clause in his contract that gives him the right to refuse a trade; or 2) don't trade him, at which point DW can still sit out and not play or he can play for the Texans.

While I wish he would get traded I stopped reading when the article cited Mike Florio.

Miami Dolphins please stand up. This is the chance to turn the Dolphins around. Jwoild love to see them try to get the #1 pick from Jax or go get DW4. Either way, Tua would be gone and the Dolphins would finally have their franchise qb

I wish that is all it would take. It couldb be and that would be Fin-tastic. Though I believe Jax would want at least 1, possibly 2, more first round picks to go with that. Maybe even a 2nd.
Getting DW4 would take Tua and two Firsts. Give them back their 3rd and another for next year.
Either trade would be worth getting Watson or Lawrence in Miami. We would finally have our first franchise qb since Marino retired.
Let's go Dolphins! Trade Tua....please!

There seems to be no merit to this story at all. If Watson wanted out so badly then why would he have signed a new deal less than a year ago? Houston was already in the same situation at that time with no 1st round picks, and no available cap space.
