Guys its a simple issue here

Brad is not an elite coach, if you want an elite team and a team that won’t lose these stupid games to Boston College and Louisville, then make a move to a better coach.
Brad will not be an elite coach. I do not know what any of you are expecting. It’s flabbergasting that y’all think differently.
It’s not about me being negative about our coach. It’s about me knowing that any program, especially an ACC program with a decent tradition in basketball, can elevate to the next level.
And Brad is going to stay stagnant at an average level forever.
Is this what we are willing to settle with for Clemson basketball?

Give us this elite coach that's going to take us to the ACC mountain top.

Will Wade
Billy Donovan
Those are 2 that are in spots where they would obviously leave for somewhere. Donovan is at the Chicago Bulls, but it’s not working.
Also, Shaka Smart, Matt Painter, Kelvin Sampson, and more coaches who are at top programs where it may go south at any point.
Purdue fans have become restless with Painter in the same way we have with Dabo Swinney. Look at Purdue’s recent tournament success and you’ll know why.
Look..The point is you’re going to have to move on and make a change. Regardless if the next coach is a million times worse, you’ve got to do something.
Obviously we still have the big dance to go, but watch this BS happen

Dunno. But it's clearly not Brownell.

Won't know until we try someone else.
We can stay with the known mediocrity. Or take a chance on unknown success.
But you gotta try if you care about the program.

Crying, "Oh, we can't be great, we can't be great. Waaaah!!"
Who would want to coach...softball at Clemson? Or baseball? Or even lacrosse, for goodness sake??
So keep thinking a loser's mentality. That's what has kept us average in basketball.
MANY coaches would kill to come coach at Clemson. Find a young-ish, hungry, Basketball mind who can motivate, and you're set.
No, they don't come a dime-a-dozen.
But we're Clemson. We should should act like it!!

Why do you ask, “Who’d be better?” like there’s no coach that would do better at Clemson lol
There are obviously coaches that would have more success

I completely agree with you. I have nothing against him at all. It’s a misconception by some on here that we hate him if we say anything about him that’s negative. I feel like he should have been gone years ago but here I am again already over the game last night because nothing surprises me anymore. I hope we can win one game in the NCAA.

The people calling for a change simply think he's a poor coach who cannot move the program forward beyond the mediocrity and inconsistency we've all come to know and expect, and Clemson deserves better.

Yeah of course. Brad is truly a great person, I just don’t think his long term stay here has been warranted.

I'm not, but I don't have much of a say in any of this. Actually, no say. Nothing outside of Tigernet.

I can see the virtual smiles on Tigernet a year from now. "We're 8-22 but we don't have CBB anymore!!"

It’s obvious you don’t actually care about sports and are just trolling. Do the lows of a bad season linger with you after the fact? Not really. It might be miserable to watch in real time but we shake it off and come back for more. But I don’t sit around affected by the Larry Shyatt years. And he actually gave a me a moment of joy that I remember to this day beating a #1 ranked UNC. Winning the ACC regular season under Cliff. I had to listen on the radio and remember exactly where I was and how it felt. So many great moments under Barnes. Purnell gave me a number too. There were games in his first few seasons where he was clearly doing more with less so the faith that we are on our way somewhere starts again. The ACC semifinal win and even the final loss to Duke is a mostly fond memory. I was at all the games that tourney. Literally all of them - not just Clemson’s. I had great seats most of the tourney after some NC State fans gave me their club tickets. I vividly remember trips to Omaha and certain Clem/Carolina baseball games. Tons of football games. But what I don’t ever recall doing is sitting back and fondly reflecting on a season where we were “not bad”. “Hmmm. I don’t remember particulars but boy, we weren’t terrible for that 14 years under Brad”. It’s torture. There should be an ebb and flow to sports and winning it all should be the goal. Deliberately settling in and saying “x” number of wins is good enough is the death of any reason to watch sports.

And please no we have beaten UNC twice like that has mattered in the grand scheme of things. It’s actually embarrassing so why bring it up like it justifies anything.

Exactly. If we beat NC in either tournament it would be a big deal. Beating them along the way to finishing 6th in the conference and losing our first game of the ACC tourney doesn’t mater.

The Clemson administration is apparently willing to settle for Brad's mediocrity. Vanderbilt, Oklahoma St., and Louisville actually care about their men's basketball programs. Other possibilities include Buckner, Hardaway, and the Butler and the FAU coaches. Brownell will never take Clemson to the next level. Never.

Clemson Basketball is analogous South Carolina in Football.
If you define "decent" as never winning any championships, yep we're are VERY decent.
We laugh at South Carolina fans for being exactly this delusional about their football program. 😂

A serious question

Who thought Brad was elite?
If they did, what lead them to believe this? For the life of me, I simply do not understand all the consternation over this guy.
It's analogous to voting a politician who promises to "curtail domestic energy production" and then wondering why your energy costs go up. Duh.
His track record speaks for itself. Brad's teams are consistently inconsistent and he loses big games when it matters.
It ain't hard to figure.

We should have plenty of coaches available to choose from at the end of March since 67 teams are going to choke/collapse/quit/spaz/get out-coached and lose their last game.
