But does anybody on here sports bet? Player props or money lines at all?
Let me know, it’d be good to put heads together for this

Every March I enter a basketball pickem contest … 100 entrants … $20. Years ago I put $5 on VCU to win it all … that was when I was in Las Vegas as the final four was about to tip off.

I play the lottery a few times per year if that counts.

I made a bet with 88 for points but forgot what it was about?

I think it might have been over . Dammmm don't remember.
But I have a brother that swears he doesn't gamble but I find about 400 in scratch off tickets everytime I'm in his car. I think he is more into using them for decoration than winning money!

Sounds promising, can't wait for your advice.

I wager on occasion.
You would be a horrible gambler. Like most you lack objectivity.

I like to bet. Clemson has been so unpredictable - and usually on the wrong end of the line until this week - and I never bet against the Tigers. So it's been player props for me in our games. Hit on Girard over 2.5 3-pointers last night. Missed the same bet when he had his toe on the line against GT.

Yeah player props are weird for college.
Of course in any sport you’re doing players, you want to stay with reliable players and reliable player lines.
For example, a college example, Armando Bacot rebound line (which is about 9.0 rebounds) would be a good one to bet on every night. You won’t win every time with it, but you’re going to win that one prop at least 6/10 times.
But college is different because of shorter games. And with how much more random it is than the NBA.
Girard’s points+assists+rebounds has been a really good one lately.
Girard is hot right now, and that prop line has been about 23.5 points+assists+rebounds recently. And he’s been scoring about 18-25 points a game the last couple weeks.

If you bet Bacot over every game, you will not win any money.

I definitely don’t bet on Bacot every game. I usually stay away from college because there’s actual defense and people are competing at full level every game. There’s a lot to go into, but college is more unpredictable in my opinion.
But, regarding your comment, Bacot has hit over 9.5 rebounds the last 6 games. He had a bit of a rebounding drought (like 6-7 rebounds each game) for a little bit. Go check the stats.
I was using the best rebounder in college basketball as an example.

@ninetywotiger
I mean it’s tough for anyone
And tell me how I lack objectivity, let’s hear it
There’s going to be a slew of people agree because it’s me, but say it

ROYBus10® was kind of #### thing for me to say. IF you concentrate on Clemson sports (and my assumption it was about Clemson bets) - then it is very hard imho to be successful over time because of the whole objectivity thing. There are some that can separate emotion. Perhaps you are one.
Also, sounds like you do indeed do a bit of gambling and as such my advice/commentary is worthless. My comments were made as one to a non-gambler
Good luck with your bets.

I do. Mostly college ball though. If I do professional ball it's only during the post season.

Why college? I just got done telling someone else that it is more unpredictable to me.
Unless you usually go lower on players, because like I said elsewhere the defense and effort seems so much higher for the regular season at least.
You have any reliable players that you take often or what is your strategy for college?

Place bets a few times a week and do well. I never bet Clemson games though, stressful enough just wanting us to win, let alone cover ( even though we did at the last minute last night).

Yeah if I do Clemson it’s JG III. Our guys have let me down in the betting department multiple times.
What sport is your best and what’s your approach?

College and professional football by far

College basketball I’m ok but not great so I follow a couple real sharp guys on twitter that give out free picks. Follow chicken dinner ,hits like 60% which is great. I always pick the spread because of the odds unless I love a dog then I’ll take the ML. I will do the occasional undisciplined ML parlays, for fun but rarely hit those so been laying off them much more than I used to. The real key for me is knowing when to bet multiple units, like Kentucky Bama yesterday. Just knew it was going to be a blood bath so I bet heavier on it than I typically do.

I’m a terrible gambler, but if I have a word of advice, it would be this. Always go with your gut.. I happen to be in Las Vegas the summer of 2016 instead of the window to put $1000 on Clemson to win the national championship at 21 to 1 odds. I chickened out. Years before that I was at the Preakness stakes at the window to put $100 on the long shot to win, I don’t remember exactly, but I think it was like 60 to 1 odds. Then I chickened out…. of course, the long shot won..
